That's it from our coverage of match 52 of the WBBL. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and scorer Dushyant Kumar. Stay tuned for more cricket coverage from across the globe.
Sasha Moloney is the player of the match.
A T20 classic going down the wire as the Melbourne Stars keep their calm to get home by 6 runs in the end. Perth Scorchers won the bat flip and elected to bowl first early in the day. The Stars openers got to a good start adding 57 for the first wicket.

Lauren Winfield-Hill was the top scorer with 36 off 25 deliveries. Sasha Moloney (28* off 16), Bess Heath (27 off 16) and Sophie Reid (24 off 13) played aggressive knocks to propel the score to 179/8 in the 20 overs with Piepa Cleary and Marizanne Kapp picking up a couple wicket each. Amy Edgar starred with 3 wickets.

In response, the Scorchers lost early wickets as the opening pair only added 19 runs. Top scorer Chloe Piparo (34 off 27) and Maddy Green (24 off 20) then added 34 runs for the third wicket which was the biggest partnership of the innings.

Marizanne Kapp played a good hand scoring 23 off 12 coming in to bat when the power surge was taken but after her dismissal only Alana King played some attacking cricket to keep the Scorchers in the hunt scoring 26 off just 9 deliveries.

Alice Capsey was the star with the ball picking up 3 wickets but conceded 37 runs for it. Kim Garth, Sasha Moloney, Rhys McKenna and Annabel Sutherland picked up a wicket apiece. Left arm spinner Sophie Day went wicketless but bowled an economic spell to guide the Stars home.

18.5 A Sutherland to A King
W WICKET! Fuller length outside off, King looks to loft it away over covers and hits it uppishly to Winfield-Hill at covers. She makes no mistake as King departs after a cameo. The Stars are back in front of the game.
18.4 A Sutherland to A King
6 SIX! Fuller on the pads, King heaves it away over deep square leg as the ball sails into the stands for the maximum. King and Scorchers needed this badly.
