Melbourne Stars crushed Hobart Hurricanes by four wickets and kept their hopes alive for the tournament.🏆 We appreciate your participation from all across the world. On behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and Scorer/Analyst Raju Khariya, I, Deepak Prakash, am signing off. Please join us for the second game of today's WBBL where Sydney Thunder will cross swords against Melbourne Renegades.✌✌
Alice Capsey has been awarded the Player of the Match for her breathtaking 80* off 52 balls.
12:30 PM IST | Deepak: Alice Capsey finishes off in style.🔥🔥 A swashbuckling inning from Alice Capsey has helped the Stars to snatch the victory from the Hurricanes by four wickets.🎯 80 runs off 52 balls, take a bow to Alice Capsey.👏👏

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, the Hobart Hurricanes managed to score 130 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Nicola Carey contributed 31 runs off 34 balls to her team's 130-run total. On the other hand, Sutherland was the pick of the bowlers for the Stars as she extracted 3 wickets, giving away 18 runs in 4 overs.

In response to 130 runs, the Stars did not get off to a good start as they lost both their openers within five overs. Lauren Winfield-Hill departed after scoring 2 runs off 3 balls, and Bess Heath departed after scoring 12 runs off 16 balls.

Alice Capsey and Annabel Sutherland took charge of batting in the middle and started scoring at a brisk pace. The pair built a partnership of 48 runs for the third wicket as Annabel Sutherland departed after scoring 25 runs off 30 balls.

The Stars lost a couple of quick wickets in the end, but a swashbuckling inning from Alice Capsey helped them seal this match with five balls to spare. Alice Capsey remained unbeaten till the end and scored 80 runs off 52 balls.

On the flip side, Molly Strano picked up three wickets for the Hurricanes giving away 17 runs in 4 overs, and Nicola Carey scalped a couple of wickets.

19.1 H Jensen to A Capsey
4 Jensen will bowl the final over.  Length ball here, Capsey moves across outside off and lap sweeps it away through the fine leg region as the ball goes away to the fine leg fence like a bullet and that's the end of the game. Capsey finishes things off in style and guides Stars to a 4-wicket win with 5 balls left. The Stars keep their hopes alive. Capsey with 80* is the star for them.
