Thank you for tuning in to our coverage for match number 37 of the WBBL between Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Sixers. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay tuned for more cricket coverage from across the globe.
Another match in the Women's Big Bash League succumbs to rain. This time at the CitiPower Centre, St. Kilda as the Sydney Sixers get no result against the Melbourne Renegades. The Sixers won the toss and decided to bowl first which didn't prove to be a great call as the Renegades openers Hayley Matthews (40 off 41) and Chamari Athapaththu (16* off 24) got a steady start as they added 60 runs for the first wicket.

Erica Kershaw played just a single delivery and got a boundary off it. Ashleigh Gardner picked up the solitary wicket in the 11th over of the innings when the rain started to get huge and the players were taken out of the field despite playing through a drizzle.

Melbourne Renegades now have 5 points from 10 matches as they take the seventh spot in the ladder. Sydney Sixers at the other hand are placed second with both teams getting one point each in this fixture. Sixers have 13 points to their name with 6 wins and one rained out fixture.
11:54 AM IST: The match has been abandoned.
11:41 AM IST: There is still plenty of rain around at Melbourne, the covers are still on.
11:14 AM IST: Nothing new to update here. The covers are firmly in place and the waiting game continues.
10:20 AM IST: It's raining heavily here and the umpires call for covers. The ground staff is quick to cover the pitch. Now, the entire square has been covered. Let's hope it is a passing shower.

10.5 A Gardner to Matthews
W GONE. Gardner breaks the opening stand. Bowls it quicker on the shorter side, Matthews hangs back and looks to pull it over mid wicket but gets it high on the bat. Bates from mid on runs back and takes a fantastic catch above her head. Matthews' struggling innings comes to an end as the Renegades lose their first wicket with 60 on the board.
10.4 A Gardner to Matthews
4 FOUR!!!! Short on the stumps, Matthews shuffles across the stumps and pulls it hard in the gap between square leg and short fine leg for a boundary. A poor delivery from Gardner and gets the treatment it deserved.
10.3 A Gardner to Matthews
2 Tossed up outside off, Matthews steps out of the crease and lifts it over the inner circle in the off side for a brace.
10.2 A Gardner to Matthews
2 Flighted delivery on the stumps, Matthews sweeps it over square leg for a couple of runs.
10.1 A Gardner to C Athapaththu
1 Flatter around off, Athapaththu punches it to the left of point and scampers across for a quick run. A direct hit at the non-striker's end from Cheatle and Athapaththu was a goner.
Power Surge is taken by the Melbourne Renegades Women.
Akshay will continue till the end of this innings.
Akshay: Time for a drinks break. Melbourne Renegades are 51/0 at the end of 10 overs. Chamari Athapaththu and Hayley Matthews are struggling a bit for timing as the Sydney Sixers Women have bowled well so far. The boundaries have dried up and the Renegades Women will be eager to up the ante in the coming phase.
