Perth Scorchers Women won the bat flip and chose to bat first. After the early loss of their skipper Sophie Devine, and her opening partner Beth Mooney, Piparo and Green went onto stitch together a well paced crucial 49 run-stand to lay the platform for Edgar to come in and play some fantastic shots to power her team to a total of 140/7 from their 20 overs.
Jonassen was the pick of the bowler, as the magician picked up 3/22 from her quota of 4 overs, while the Indian pacer Pooja Vastrakar remained wicketless today while conceding 33 runs in her 4 overs.
Come the chase, the Perth Scorchers Women had a fantastic powerplay as they picked up the wicket of the leading run-scorer of this tournament Redmayne to restrict the Brisbane Heat Women to 17/1 after 4 overs.
