That's it from our coverage of match 18 of the Women's big Bash League. Thank you for tuning in. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and scorer/analyst Ashok Daima. Stay tuned for more cricket coverage from across the globe.
Amelia Kerr is the player of the match.
Jess Jonassen (Brisbane Heat Captain): "The girls in the middle didn't know about the par score but Amelia and Knott played well and made the total looked easier as it was. Happy with the 2 points.

We were on the sidelines waiting for them to bowl as we were behind and they were taking their time to bowl which was pretty frustrating. Rain has a little knack of ruining some good games. We were hoping this would go down to the wire.

It's really nice to be back under the lights. We had good turnout tonight. Wicket was a bit on the slower side, the ball gripped off the surface. Luckily we have some warm weather and some sunshine over the next few days so the wicket might get dried up before the next game."
Another rain hit game in the WBBL as the umpire decide to call it off due to the rains getting heavier. A good start from the Brisbane Heat to the chase as the openers Danni Wyatt (18) and Georgia Redmayne (33) added 40 runs for the first wicket in 6.4 overs.

Good bowling in the middle overs from the Sydney Thunder bowlers reduced the score to 72/5 as the Heat middle over crumbled. Number 6 Amelia Kerr (22* off 15) and Charli Knott (20* off 16) then steadied the ship and batted through rain to add 48 runs for the sixth wicket as the game was interrupted due to the rain getting heavier.

Some good signs from the Thunder bowling line up early in the innings as Lea Tahuhu found her form back picking up 3 wickets for 31 runs. Lauren Smith and Sammy-Jo Johnson picked up a wicket apiece. The Thunder were ahead in the game when the rain started but a boundary from Amelia Kerr in the 17th over pushed the Heat ahead in the game and in front of the DLS par score when the match was called off.
3:59PM IST: The umpires and the players are shaking hands. The match has been called off, Brisbane Heat win by 3 runs (DLS).
The DLS par score is 117, Brisbane Heat are ahead at this stage.
3:47PM IST: The umpires feel it is enough. They take the bails off and call for the covers. The players are getting out of the ground.
17.2 S Bates to C Knott
2 Fuller length here around off, Knott uses her feet and lofts it over mid-off as the fielder gets around to cut that off. They get a couple of runs as the rain becomes heavier.
17.1 S Bates to C Knott
2b Fuller on the pads, Knott looks to sweep it away and misses. The ball goes through to the fine leg fielder as the umpire signals two byes here.
The umpires are coming together. Looks like a change of ball. The DLS par score is 115, Heat are in front of the total at the moment.
