That's it from our coverage of match 3 between the Sydney Sixers and Adelaide Strikers in the Womne's big Bash League. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Tugral Azmi and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay tuned for more cricket coverage from across the globe.
Suzie Bates (Player of the match): "I played with another bat today and realized that the bat hasn't been the problem really. It was a slow start but we dig deep to bat through the innings and just felt that we need a few more runs with 2 wickets down but it feels really good to contribute for the team in the field.

Yes I'm having some issues with the knee trying to execute some silly shots over the keeper's head. Didn't wanted to let the team down going in the field as there was a bit of swelling but it feels a lot better now and I hope it does get better.

They know each other so well, so many of these Australian players have played each other, their bowling attack is world class. It was wonderful to turn up and play with and against some friends and I'm enjoying the opportunity playing with a great group of players."

The Sydney Sixers move to the top of the WBBL table with another commanding win as they defeat the Adelaide Strikers by 17 runs here at Mackay. Sophie Ecclestone was the hero in the second innings after picking up 4 wickets for 17 runs in 4 overs also running out Laura Wolvaardt at short midwicket.

Player of the match Suzie Bates (82*) and skipper Ellyse Perry (58) were the dominators in the first innings after the Sixers won the toss and decided to bat, getting a strong total of 151/2 at the break. Darcie Brown and Megan Schutt picked up a wicket apiece and were the only bowlers to keep the scoring rate in check.

In response, the Strikers playing their first match of the season started off in style thanks to some good strokes from Deandra Dottin (25) who added 33 runs in the powerplay getting out on the final ball of the phase. Her opening partner Katie Mack played the anchor and top scored with 34 and added 44 runs for the 2nd wicket with Wolvaardt.

After the partnership was broken,  the Strikers kept losing wickets at regular interval and failed to allow them any chance to go for the win with 37 needed off the final 3 overs. Ecclestone continued her form with the ball and picked up 2 more wickets in the final over of the game.

Suzie Bates is the player of the match!

19.6 S Ecclestone to J Barsby
W WICKET! The sound of the Timber!! Slower delivery from Sophie. Barsby had premeditated their shuffles across the off stump and tries to pull this over the fine-leg fielder in the circle. Doesn't make any contact and Sophie her bullseye clatter onto the leg stump. Sydney Sixers won the game by 17 runs and maintained their winning streak..
19.5 S Ecclestone to M Schutt
1 Drifting on the leg peg, Schutt tucks it into the leg side and takes a single.
19.4 S Ecclestone to M Schutt
2 Fuller on the off, Schutt drills that one past the bowler, down the ground towards the long-off region for a couple.
19.3 S Ecclestone to M Schutt
2 Flights on the leg stump line, Schutt clips this with her wrist, left to the deep square leg fielder, and takes a couple of runs.

W BOWLED' HER! Sophie picks up the third wicket of the day. Quicker through the air on the middle stump line. Penna again steps out of the crease and tries to drill toward the off side but misses it completely on this occasion. The ball clatters onto the middle stump.
19.1 S Ecclestone to M Penna
4 FOURR! Cracked away to the boundary. Full toss delivery on the off. Penna advances down the track and punches it in the gap between the cover-point region for a boundary.

18.6 M Brown to J Barsby
2 A much fuller on the pads, Barsby clips this into the deep mid-wicket region, wide of the deep fielder, and takes a couple of runs. Strikers needs 27 runs to win in 6 balls. Strikers really needs a couple of sixes in this over.
18.5 M Brown to M Penna
1 Length ball, outside the off. Penna cuts this aerially, towards the short third man but the ball falls short of the fielder.
18.4 M Brown to M Penna
0 Full ball, on the fourth stump line, Penna throws her hands at it and pokes it toward the off side.
18.3 M Brown to M Penna
4 FOURR!! Length delivery, a tad outside off. Penna goes across the line and pulls this uppishly towards the vacant deep fine leg region for a boundary. Much-needed boundary for Strikers.
