5:25 PM IST | Deepak: What a nail-biting match the WBBL 2022 opener was. Ellyse Perry and Erin Burns' daring innings helped Sydney Sixers defeat Brisbane Heat by 4 wickets.
Brisbane Heat earlier achieved 141 runs in 20 overs after being asked to bat first and losing 8 wickets. The Heat's highest scorer, Georgia Redmayne, left the game after scoring 49 runs off 39 balls, just one run short of her well-deserved half-century. The Sydney Sixers' preferred bowler, Maitlan Brown, claimed three wickets while conceding 20 runs in three overs.

In response to the 141 runs, Sydney Sixers Women didn’t get the start they needed as they lost 3 wickets under 5 overs. Alyssa Healy departed in the very first over without opening her account. Suzie Bates departed after scoring 4 runs off 9 balls and Ashleigh Gardner scored 2 runs off 2 balls.
Ellyse Perry and Erin Burns took charge of batting in the middle and the pair started scoring at a brisk pace. The pair added 93 runs for the fourth wicket as Erin Burns departed after scoring 50 runs off 37 balls, and was followed by the skipper Ellyse Perry in the same over. Ellyse Perry departed after scoring 55 runs off 48 balls. In the end, Maitlan Brown sealed the match with a six for Sydney Sixers.
On the other hand, Kerr and Jonassen shared a couple of wickets each for the Brisbane Heat.
