That's it from the dress rehearsal between the teams and it's Sri Lanka who walks away with the honors tonight. Both teams will be back to contest the grand finale on Super Sunday. The Lankans will aim for their 6th Asia Cup crown, while Pakistan will aim to win their 3rd crown. Which way is it going to go? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for all the other cricketing action across the globe.

For now, this is me, Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Hitesh Peddurwar alongside scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi. Stay safe, happy, and cool and until the next time we meet again here's wishing you Goodnight and CHEERS! Have a super weekend everyone!
Wanindu Hasaranga(Player of the match): " Yeah That's how I like to bowl and bat, that's how I like to play. I am really happy because in the last few games I leaked a few runs. Good to take the wickets, first two overs I bowled a few dot balls that put pressure on the batters and I got wickets."
Dasun Shanaka (Winning Captain): "Absolutely will accept this as a birthday gift. The bowling has been phenomenal due to the variation in the bowling attack. Fast bowler and then the spinners make it tough for the opposition batters. I think the areas we need to improve are the number of extras we conceded today. 17 of them are unacceptable. The fast bowlers have been expensive sometimes and that is an area we need to improve. Happy with the win and thank you for the birthday wishes."
Babar Azam(Losing Captain):" We played very well in the powerplay but after that, we didn't build any partnership. Definitely, I am impressed with our bowlers Pakistan has produced fast bowlers every time, now we didn't have Shaheen her but when he comes back we will have a more dangerous bowling attack. We will sit and discuss what went wrong today and we will try to rectify it."
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony!!!!
Pathum Nissanka: " Because of three early wickets allowed me to play my game to see off the new ball and get settled in the middle. Although there was extra pace by the Pakistan bowlers I backed my skill and tackled it. A win against Pakistan will give us good momentum before going into the finals."
So, Sri Lanka wins this dress rehearsal game to win by 5 wickets with 3 overs to spare. They have dominated this game and deserve to remain unbeaten in the Super4 stage. Pakistan made it tough for them at the start, but the Lankans found a way to win it.

Chasing a paltry target of 122 for the win, the Lankans were rocked early by the duo of Mohammad Hasnain and Haris Rauf as Kusal Mendis (0), Danushka Gunathilaka (0), and Dhananjaya de Silva (9), went inside the powerplay as they were reduced to 29-3 inside the powerplay. Pathum Nissanka was the star with the bat as he remained unbeaten on 55 off 48 balls as he carried his bat here. He was ably supported by Bhanuka Rajapaksa (24), and skipper Dasun Shanaka (21) steered the ship home. Wanindu Hasaranga had fun out there as he remained unbeaten on 10 off 3 balls. Just 5 extras were given by the Men in Green today.

Pakistani bowlers tried their best as they had nothing to defend out there. A couple of wickets apiece for Haris Rauf and Mohammad Hasnain as they gave Pakistan hope. Mohammad Nawaz was economical in his 4 overs. Hasan Ali relieved the pressure on the Lankans as he was all over the place. Usman Qadir got a wicket, but he bowled too many loose balls and made things easy for the Lankans.

Earlier in the game, Pakistan put into bat first and got off to a decent start in the initial overs of the powerplay. But after losing Rizwan in the 4th over for just 14 runs, the innings never took off. Fakhar Zaman (13), and Iftikhar Ahmed (13) went at less than run a ball. Babar Azam top scored with 30 off 29 balls. Mohammad Nawaz’s 26 off 18 balls along with 17 extras made sure that Pakistan crossed the 120-run mark and finished with 121 all out in 19.1 overs.

A sensational bowling performance by the Sri Lankan bowlers as the spinners strangulated the Men in Green. The three spinners bowled 12 overs and took 6 wickets for 60 runs to derail the chase. Wanindu Hasaranga was the pick of the bowlers with his 3-21 in 4 overs. Maheesh Theekshana took a couple of wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs. Dhananjaya de Silva picked up a wicket in his 4 overs for 18 runs. Chamika Karunaratne got a wicket in the only over he bowled. The debutant Madushan picked up a couple of wickets including the big wicket of Mohammad Rizwan at the top. Dilshan Madhushanka went wicketless today. Pakistan lost 9-58 with the bat today.

So, Sri Lanka stays unbeaten in the Super 4 stage with a 5-wicket win over Pakistan and tops the table. It's their fifth win in the competition. Stick around as we shall have the presentation for you soon.
