So, after a long wait, we had some cricket, and it turned out to be a cracker of a contest. India have levelled up with Australia in this three-match series. Now the caravan will move onto Hyderabad for the enthralling decider.

For now, this is me, AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of the my-commentator, Arijit Kundu, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi, brought you all the live actions from this mouth-watering encounter. Until next time, it is goodnight!
India overtakes Pakistan to win more matches against Australia in T20Is! India now have 14 wins against the Men in Yellow.
Rohit Sharma (India Captain, Winning skipper/ Player of the Match): "I was quite surprised actually. Didn't expect to hit that way. I am glad that it came well. Honestly, for the last 8-9 months, I am playing like that, nothing much different. The dew started to come in later and therefore you got to see the odd full tosses from Harshal and other guys They were finding it difficult to grip the ball. But we also want the guys to be confident and they will improve.

Yeah obviously, coming from a back injury can be a bit tricky[on Jasprit Bumrah]. We just wanted him to come and play freely, didn't put the pressure of wickets. But the way he was bowling was amazing. As a team, we are not gonna analyze a lot of his bowling but come and play freely.

Yeah, Axar has been fit in the lineup quite well in place of Jadeja. He has been playing brilliantly since the last few years and what he did in the last games is what Axar Patel is known for. It's been a while he has been in the middle, it's always fine to get him in. I was wondering if to send Rishabh Pant over DK or not. But I thought no let's give DK a go and he should come and take on Daniel Sams. Though he takes a little time in the middle but he did the job brilliantly for us.

No, it's fantastic, a lot of credit to the groundsman honestly. I think they were here since the early evening period and working for so long so that we could have a game was tremendous."
Player of the Match: Rohit Sharma
Energetic Player of the match: Virat Kohli.
Game Changer of the match: Axar Patel
Trusted Player of the Match: Matthew Wade.
Aaron Finch (Australia Captain, Lossing skipper): "We're probably planning for 5 over games before the start. Rohit was brilliant with the batting, and Axar was good in the bowling. Yeah, I feel my batting has fine. All well. Yeah, Wade was batting well, and he is finding his groove well. Zampa was good as well, taking wickets when the need was there."
Harsha Bhogle acknowledges the efforts of Groundstaffs and the crowd.
Time for the presentation ceremony....
Dinesh Karthik: "You are the one who have taught us [to Ravi Shastri], it's never an easy game, go by the hard way. Rohit was telling me, these are the two bowlers who are gonna bowl. I had my own plans. I was ready if the ball was at the stumps. It feels good to hit the winning runs.

I think Daniel Sams would be upset if you tell him a left-arm spinner [to Murali Kartik]. I think two people stood out today, Axar Patel with the ball and Rohit Sharma with the bat. I think Bumrah was good with the ball as well. From a series point of view, leveling the series was important. We would like to play the crunch games in Hyderabad. I think it was the loudest cheer from the games I have played in recent times."
11:01 PM IST| Dinesh Karthik takes just two deliveries to finish the match in the court of India. LONG LIVE DK, THE FINISHER. India chase down the target set by Australia with four balls and six wickets in hand to level the series 1-1! Hyderabad will be packed as the decider is all set to go on Sunday!

Chasing the total of 91 in eight overs, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gave the team a brisk start as the duo added 39 runs for the opening wicket in just 2.5 overs. It was the former, who was smashing them all over the fence, but the latter supported his skipper really well. Rahul (10 off 6) was the first one to go as Adam Zampa cleaned up the 'KL-assy' opener.

Zampa didn't stop here as he went through the gates of Virat Kohli (11 off 6), who, after playing a couple of glorious shots, walked back to the pavilion. Suryakumar Yadav didn't trouble the scorers as he was trapped dead infront of the stumps by the willy leg-spinner to be on a hattrick in the fifth over.

India were at 55/3 after 4.3 overs when Hardik Pandya joined hands with the opener, Rohit. The duo piled up a crucial 22 runs for the fourth wicket before Pat Cummins took care of Pandya (9 off 9) in the seventh over.

India needed 13 runs in the last seven deliveries when Rohit (46* off 20) timed a cut down to the deep point fence to ease out the job for Dinesh Karthik (10* off 2) in the last over, who smoked a maximum and a four off the first two deliveries bowled by Daniel Sams to seal the deal for the hosts.

Adam Zampa was the pick-up of Australian bowlers with the figures of 2-0-16-3.

Earlier, the game started two and a half hours late due to wet outfield. India won the toss and decided to go with the ball first. Australia didn't really start well as Cameron Green (5 off 4) was undone by a brilliant piece of fielding by Virat Kohli at mid-on as the former was dismissed via a run-out in the second over.

Axar Patel cleaned up Glenn Maxwell and Tim David cheaply, but Aaron Finch, on the other hand, was striking the ball alright. Once Finch (31 off 15) departed for a lethal Bumrah special, Matthew Wade took the job to finish the innings. Wade (43* off 20) smoked the bowlers all over the corners and helped the side to post a good total of 90/5 in their allotted eight overs.

For India, Axar Patel (2-0-13-2) was the best bowler, alongside Jasprit Bumrah (2-0-23-1). The woes with Harshal Patel's (2-0-32-0) death overs again haunted India as he was torn apart by the Aussie batters.

Stay tuned as we will be back with the presentations!
7.2 D Sams to D Karthik
4 FOURRRRR!!! Bisects the two fielders in the deep and fetches the match-winning boundary. Sams drags the length back this time and angling it into DK once again, from wide of the popping crease. DK squares up and pulls it along the ground, and piercing the gaps between the fielders at deep mid wicket and deep square leg to help India level the series 1-1. Never the ideal delivery to bowl in the slog overs, and not the first time that Daniel Sams was at the end of a thrashing in the last over of a match. India have won the match and DK the finisher arrive at the stage with Rohit the leader!!
DK, THE FINISHER!!!
7.1 D Sams to D Karthik
6 SIXXXXXX!!! Sams comes into the attack and angles it into the right hander this time. DK sits there comes underneath the bounce and hoicks it over the deep backward square leg region for a maximum. A slower one from Sams but just in vain as the batter in front is the new finisher of India, Dinesh Karthik.
Akshaya: That was a great shot under pressure from the Indian skipper. India need 9 runs from the last six deliveries. At this stage, India should be the favourites. But this is cricket. Anything can happen!

6.6 P Cummins to R Sharma
4 FOURRRRR!!! Rohit Sharma gets the width on the offering and capitalists on it wittily. Full and outside the off from Pat and Rohit weighs back and draws the arms at it to propel the ball past the boundary ropes for a boundary. This one gushes through the deep point region!! A much-needed boundary for India and they need 9 more runs from 6 balls.
6.6 P Cummins to R Sharma
WD Full, slow, and outside the tramline this time. Seemed like a leg cutter from Cummins. Rohit looks to give it a go at it but ends up missing it. Wide called!!!!
