After Phil Salt's early departure and Dawid Malan's unceremonious downfall, the rest of the batters took the game by the scruff of its neck.
Will Jacks smashed his way to a quick fire cameo of 40 runs off 22 balls. Ben Duckett and Harry Brook then went onto register England's highest 4th wicket partnership in T20Is. A 139 run unbeaten stand which saw both batters smash their maiden T20I half-centuries, as Duckett finished on 70 runs off 42 balls* and Brook clobbered his way to a final score of 81 runs off just 35 deliveries*!
A monstrous total for Pakistan to chase down and all hopes rested with the kind of platforms their dazzling openers could provide.
