Milestone

This is it from the live coverage of Boost Defenders vs Band-E-Amir Dragons, as we conclude this game with the Bost Defenders winning it by 17 runs. That’s it for today from myself Nikhil Kalla alongside my co-commentator Saipavan with our scorer/analyst Chandan. See you soon again with more games to follow till then stay safe.

The Player of the match goes to Hashmatullah Shahidi.

NIKHIL: So, we are done here with the Bost Defenders winning the game by 17 runs, as they restricted the Dragons to a total of 111 while chasing down a total of 129 which proved to be a bit too much for the Dragons.

Defenders started in a cautious way and ended up scoring 30 for a loss of 1 wicket. Shahidi got going well and scored 42 runs supported brilliantly by Shinwari who put up a total of 32 before falling short to Usman. The partnership between Shahidi and Shinwari was the biggest one as they scored 76 runs together. Once the duo got out in consecutive deliveries it was curtains for the Boost Defenders to score runs afterward. All they managed to get in the last 23 deliveries was 16 runs.

For the Dragons, Janat and Alam took a couple of wickets each and Usman chipped in with a wicket as well.

In reply to the target set by the Defenders, the Dragons started in a cautious manner scoring 38 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the powerplay as they lost Musazai and Janat in the powerplay.

Janat started well and tried to anchor the run-chase before he perished on 24. He was helped by Ikram and Arabzai who scored 20 each and also Safi who perished on a score of 16 courtesy of a brilliant bit of fielding by Rehman who hit the stumps directly. The wickets kept tumbling for the Dragons and it kept halting the flow of runs. There was no good partnership for the Dragons.

For the Defenders, Farooqi and Rahman got some crucial wickets of Musazai and Janat in the powerplay and broke the backbone of this run-chase that looked like a walk in the park. They were well helped by Saleem and Shahidi who took a wicket each in the middle stages of the Dragons inning. Farooqi was the stand-out bowler for the Defenders as he scalped 3 crucial wickets.

This was some display of discipline by the bowling unit of Bost Defenders who is the best in the tournament.

W ALL OUT!! BOWLED!!! Yorker delivery on the middle stump line, Masood prods forward and tries to defend but gets beaten and ball straight onto the woods. Dragons are finished at 111. Boost Defenders won this match by 17 runs.
18.5 F Farooqi to N Masood
0 Full and wide of the off-stump and he has missed out on this one again. What a brilliant over this is by Farooqi.

Checking run out!!! Before going to check the run out the umpire declares that was caught out.
18.2 F Farooqi to I Safi
W OUT!!! This is a hilarious bit of cricket by the Dragons as they are the ones who have left this in such a pity situation here. This was again right in the block hole and Safi has blocked this towards the bowler and ran blindly at this one but a brilliant bit of fielding effort by Farooqi has seen the back of Safi here. This was a brilliant catch by the Afghan international.

18.1 F Farooqi to A Alam
1W OUT!!! Silly run out here and there was no need for such a risky run here. This was right in the block hole and Alam had blocked it towards mid-wicket and they ran for this but the throw was right on top of the stumps at the striker's end and he has to walk back.
Dragons are needs 19 runs in 12 balls.

4 FOUR!!! An important boundary in the later stages of the innings. This was pressure telling on the fielder after a dropped catch. Good length delivery in the middle and he has pulled this towards deep mid-wicket where a misfield earns him a boundary.
