That's it from all of us for this game. Do join us next time for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Tugral Azmi and scorer Manish Bishnoi. Until next time, cheers and goodbye.
Cameron Bancroft (Player of the Match): "We turned it into a pretty good game of cricket in the end. Will and Finchy played well in the end but happy to get across the line. Really huge. We have been playing cricket at this Perth Stadium and are happy to play in front of the crowd. We are looking forward to it. Kelly’s was a pretty sickening blow and good to see him back on the field. AJ was hit on the forehead and hopefully, they will recover."
Cameron Bancroft is named the Player of the Match.
05:07 PM IST | Akshay: That’s it. The Perth Scorchers beat the Melbourne Renegades by 10 runs. The Renegades were done and dusted at one stage but the partnership between Finch and Sutherland gave them hope. They tried hard but fell short of the target by 10 runs. With this win, the Scorchers confirm their top spot in the points table. The Renegades lose their seventh game and will have to win their last league game to keep their finals hopes alive.

The Renegades got off to a steady start to the chase of 213. They scored 31 in the powerplay, with Shaun Marsh playing beautiful strokes. He played aggressively and Martin Guptill at the other end played the role of a second fiddle. The Kiwi batter struggled for timing and departed on 15. Marsh was going strong from one end and he raced to his fifty in just 26 balls.

Marsh was knocked over by David Payne on 54 in the 11th over. The Renegades managed to score only six runs in the power surge as they lost their way a bit. Will Sutherland joined Aaron Finch and both teed off. They hit some lusty blows and kept their side in the chase. Finch scored 31 runs off Andrew Tye in the 18th over. He along with Sutherland tried hard but it wasn’t enough as it was too much to do in the end. Finch remained unbeaten on 76 off 35 balls as the Renegades finished on 202/5.

Earlier, the Renegades decided to bowl first. The decision backfired as the Scorchers got off to a sensational start, thanks to Stephen Eskinazi and Cameron Bancroft. Both played some fantastic shots and took on the bowling from the word go. They put 62 at the end of the mandatory powerplay. Eskinazi brought up his fifty in no time. The Renegades managed to break the opening stand of 87 in the eighth over when Eskinazi departed on 54.

Aaron Hardie came out and played some aggressive strokes before falling on 22. The Renegades picked up wickets at regular intervals but there was no stopping Bancroft. He kept going from one end and played some magnificent strokes. He hit 5 fours and six maximums as he remained unbeaten on 95 off 50 balls to help his side post 212 on the board. The Renegades picked up five wickets in total, with Corey Rocchiccioli and Matthew Critchley finishing with two each.
