Milestone
That's all for the coverage of this game! A riveting battle comes to an end. Thanks for joining everyone! This is Anurag Dasgupta, signing on behalf of my co-commentator, Arjun Bhalla and our scorer/analyst, Manish Bishnoi.

Sixers have done it! This was easy peasy for them and they won this riveting battle by 59 runs.

A Steve Smith hundred, followed by some tight bowling from Todd Murphy ensured that Sixers leapfrog the Scorchers and go top of the table.

Chasing 204 was never going to be easy and the Strikers found it tough right from the word go. They lost the in-form Travis Head for just 5, but Alex Carey and Matthew Short ensured that the runs keep on coming. The duo struggled a bit, but the odd boundaries kept on coming.

Short was the aggressor in the partnership, and continued his rich vein of form in the tournament. However, he was eventually dismissed for 40 by Todd Murphy and that changed the course of the match.

Wickets started to tumble at regular intervals and Strikers lost three in quick successions. However, one man stood from the other end and watched everything going in front of his eyes. Carey looked like a man on a  mission and started the attack with the dismissal of Short.

With the run-rate climbing up, the pressure was increasing on the Strikers and Carey kept them in the contest with a well crafted fifty. His exciting innings came to an end when the southpaw was knocked over by Dwarshuis for 54.

With his dismissal, it was just a matter of time before the Strikers crumbled. And that’s what happened eventually, as the team from Adelaide were dismissed for just on the board.

Murphy and Dwarshuis were the pick of the bowlers, with 3 wickets each.

18.6 Abbott to H Conway
W Bowled'em!!! Abbott with the last wicket and Sydney Sixer bag another win in this BBL!! A 59-run win for the Sixers and they would bag the top spot on the points table!! Sean Abbott bowls a good length around off, angling into Conway. The batter gets in the leg side and tries to answer the ball with an angled bat. The ball goes rushing past his blade and through to the stumps. That would be end of play here at Cobbs Habour.
18.5 Abbott to H Conway
0 Kicks off the deck and goes kissing past the outside edge.Outside off, Conway tries to get away but that was close for him.
18.4 Abbott to H Conway
0 A smearing yorker on the woods. However, Conway brings his willow down on time as he plays it out to mid-on.
18.3 Abbott to H Thornton
1 Thornton takes the short ball on. He hooks it away towards fine leg for a single.
18.2 Abbott to H Conway
1 Full ball around off, that snakes into the batter. Off-cutter, I reckon. Conway puts it away to square leg for one.
18.1 Abbott to H Thornton
1 Bangs it short and Thorton barely manages to fend it behind the keeper. Single taken.

17.4 B Dwarshuis to C Boyce
W Boyce connects the ball this time around but straight into the bucket hands of Kurtis Patterson. Length delivery away from the batter who goes slogging. He tried to take advantage of the gap at deep covers but the outside half takes it to deep point, where the catcher takes it.
17.3 B Dwarshuis to C Boyce
0 Slower one this time around. At good length outside off, Boyce goes feeling for it but gets heavily beaten
17.2 B Dwarshuis to C Boyce
0 The game between the bowler and the keeper continues. Full and wide again. Boyce throws his hands again but misses yet again.
17.1 B Dwarshuis to C Boyce
0 Fuller length outside off, angling across the batter. Boyce tries to go big but misses to the keeper.
