That's it from the Sydney Smash where the Sixers prevailed easily over the Thunder. Join us tomorrow for another BBL fixture and stay tuned to our network for all other cricketing action across the globe. For now, I am Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Anirudh Modi and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav, Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and Cheers! Take Care!
Sean Abbott | Player of the Match: "Well Dan Christian was pretty upset because he saw a green tinge on the wicket. We're getting to that stage of the season where we need to perform and really happy with the way we did tonight. I thought there would a bit more swing but you have to adjust with the conditions. the Thunder boys put up a good fight but we dragged it all back towards the end. This victory shapes up nicely for the return fixture and we hope to make it 2-0 against them this season."
04:52 PM IST: A comfortable win for the Sydney Sixers by 7 wickets sends them to the top of the points table. There was a minor hiccup when they started the chase, but largely they were in control of the game and dominated in all three aspects of the game.

Chasing a paltry 134 for the win, Sixers much like the Thunder lost early wickets in the powerplay as their top 3 were sent for single-digit scores inside the powerplay. They were 25/3 inside the first four overs, but from thereon it was the Jordan Silk-Moises Henriques show. The duo put on an unbeaten 109-run stand off 75 balls and steered the Sixers to the win in just 16.2 overs. Moises Henriques remained unbeaten on 53* off 38 balls while Jordan Silk was with him on 59* off 42 balls as they reached the target with 22 balls left. 9 extras were given by the fielding side.

It was a low total to defend and the bowlers were always under pressure. A couple of wickets for Chris Green as he finished with 2/29 in 4 overs. Brendan Doggett picked up the other wicket as he finished with 1/23 in 4 overs. The rest of the bowlers went wicketless and could not control the flow of the runs.

Earlier in the game, Sydney Thunder were rocked early in the powerplay as they lost their first three wickets for 12 runs in the first four overs. Sam Whiteman and Alex Ross steadied the sinking ship with a nice 64-run stand for the fourth wicket. Whiteman scored 42 while Ross scored 34. After this partnership, they once again lost their way with only Ben Cutting standing tall. His unbeaten 26* off 15 balls helped the Thunder post 133/8 in 20 overs with the help of 7 extras given by the fielding side.

Sean Abbott was the pick of the bowlers with exceptional figures of 3/9 in 4 overs. He was ably supported by Ben Dwarshuis as he picked up a couple of wickets in his 2/28 in 4 overs. A wicket apiece for Todd Murphy, Chris Jordan, and Hayden Kerr. Murphy was miserly giving away just 20 runs in his 4 overs. Jordan and Kerr went for a few runs but not by much. All in all, a disciplined bowling performance from the Sydney Sixers tonight.

So, a comfortable win for the Sixers over the Thunder takes them to the top of the points table. Thunder falls below the Renegades on the current points table.

Moises Henriques gets to his fifty and gets the win for the Sydney Sixers.
