While chasing a total of 172 runs, Scorchers lost a wicket in the 2nd over but they didn't stop scoring the runs at a brisk rate. Cameron Bancroft and Aaron Hardie steered the ship. Both batters got to their fifties, they didn't allow the required run rate to pile as they were clearing the field easily. This duo stitched a partnership of 111 runs for the 2nd wicket.
