4:39 PM IST| So, that's a wrap from the BBL today. Sydney Thunder manages to grab their second victory of the tournament. Stay tuned to our network for all other live actions happening around the globe. This is Arijit Kundu, signing off alongside co-commentator Tugral Azmi and scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi. Good bye and stay safe!!
Matthew Gilkes (Player of the match): "We haven't exactly performed as well as we would have hoped. I thought there were a few games when we came close. The beginning of the campaign was a little challenging. The break coincided with a terrific moment for me. We undoubtedly prevailed over the circumstances. was very sideways in the first innings and up and down. a lot of pleasure being there with Hales."

So, a top-notch shot to scurry past the finishing line and the Sydney Thunder have won the match with 50 balls to spare and 10 wickets in hand. This could be a fitting redemption for the embarrassing loss they've had against the Adelaide Strikers.

It was Matthew Gilkes who showed some spark during their chase. After some low scores in the previous games, Gilkes started to take on the bowlers of Heat today. Alex Hales joined hands with him and piled up 36 runs inside the mandatory powerplay. The Thunder seemed to be in a hurry tonight and the right and left-hand partnership finally clicked for the Thunder.

Alex Hales switched gears with time and the duo smacked hard to take the Thunder past the finishing line. 25 runs came off the 11th over and it was Gilkes who clobbered Swepson left and right.

Earlier, the Hurricanes just managed to cross the 6 runs per over mark after winning the toss and opting to bat. Credits to Xavier Bartlett for playing a quickfire of 28 runs from 17 balls in the end.

The visitors failed to get a good start as they lost both Max Bryant and Matt Renshaw inside the first 6 overs. It was Chris Green who shed the first two wickets and bowled three of his overs in the start from one end. Colin Munro was the lone warrior at one end, but the pressure was building as the Thunder were keeping it really tight. Skipper Jimmy Peirson assisted him for some time and stuck a partnership of 51 runs.

So, the Thunder manages to bucket another crucial points and climb up in the points table.

11.4 M Steketee to A Hales
4 FOURRR!!! Hales finishes the game in his style. Angling in down the leg stump line. A gift for Hales, who comfortably pulls it around through fine leg to pick up a third boundary of the over. Sydney Thunder registered their second victory.
11.3 M Steketee to A Hales
0 Bangs it short on the leg peg. Hales ducks under it and leaves it alone to the keeper.
Arijit: Just short of the ropes! 😂
11.2 M Steketee to A Hales
4 FOURRR MORE! Short pitched delivery on the leg stump line. Hales quickly comes into the position to pull this towards the vacant deep mid wicket region for a boundary. One bounce and down the slope.
Fifty up for Alex Hales as well!!
11.1 M Steketee to A Hales
4 FOURRRR!!! 50 up for Hales!! Fuller delivery on the middle stump line. Hales waits for it and hammers it straight down the ground. Connects it well and the ball sprints away to the fence.
