Well that's all for today folks! This is Anirudh, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Megh and our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer! Stay Tuned to find out what comes up ahead in this season's Big Bash League! See you on the next one!
Patrick Dooley: "Yes, it was an awesome game. We did well today to turn it around. The atmosphere is fantastic here. It really feels like the crowd is on top of you here."
Riley Meredith has been awarded the player of the match for his figures of 3/12.
AND WITH THAT HOBART HURRICANES HAVE SNATCHED A THRILLING VICTORY! They defend a lowly target and defeat Melbourne Renegades by a margin of 8 RUNS! Amazing bowling effort from the men in purple today!

Hobart Hurricanes won the bat flip and elected to bat first, and Jimmy Neesham got them off to a strong start in the powerplay to register a total of 34/1 after the first 4 overs. Having scored 28 runs off 19 balls, Neesham fell in the 6th over and the Hurricanes never recovered from that.

Scoring just 88 runs thereafter, the Hurricanes were only able to manage 122 ALL OUT at the end of their innings. David Moody was the star bowler as he wreaked early havoc on the Hurricanes to take home the figures of 3/16 from his 4 overs. While Akeal Hosein continued his good form, picking up 3/29 from his 4 overs. Andre Russell playing in his last match in this season's BBL contributed with 2/23 from his 3 overs.

Come the chase, the Melbourne Renegades got off to a rocky start. Thanks to some great bowling the Hurricanes dismissed the Renegades' top order within the first 3 overs to leave them reeling at 17/3 after the powerplay, leaving Finch and Wells to enter a period of consolidation.

However, the Renegades could not recover from the early blow as high intensity bowling saw the men in red losing wickets at regular intervals. Will Sutherland's 40 runs off 29 balls provided a late innings charge but he was the last one to fall as Hobart Hurricanes snatched victory in this low scoring affair!

Riley Meredith and Shadab Khan picked up 3 wickets each while giving away just 32 runs from their 8 overs combined. Joel Paris and Patrick Dooley chipped in with 2 wickets each to bring curtains on the Renegades' chase!

A confidence building victory for Hobart Hurricanes today, who end Melbourne Renegades' brilliant start to the tournament!
19.2 J Paris to W Sutherland
W IN THE AIR AND CAUGHT! That's it. Hobart Hurricanes have done, they have pulled off a miraculous victory over Gades. Will Sutherland is disappointed but the game is done and dusted. Good length and slower at 122.3, Will rocks back and tries to clear long-off but fails to get the desired connection, and Neesham stationed there dives forward and completes the catch.
19.1 J Paris to W Sutherland
2 Over the wicket, goes length and takes the pace off, Will nudges that to long-on with soft hands and  scamper back for the second.
