5:23 PM ISt | So, the Hurricanes successfully defends the total of 172 runs against the defending champions, thereby bagging crucial points and rising up the ladder in the points table. We've enjoyed the contest and hope that you've enjoyed it too.

It is time to bid adios, Arijit Kundu this side, leaving with co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi.

Stay tuned for many more exciting clashes happening on our network.
Patrick Dooley( Player of the match): "It has a great vibe, seems like our second home, and the boys put up an incredible performance. The boys put in an amazing effort. Faf attempted to retreat while hitting a six-over cover. Because of the nature of T20 cricket, I'll do my best. I've always held the ball in this manner. Because it fits my rhythm, I keep going. I was attempting to switch on and enter the competition."
Player of the Match: Patrick Dooley.

5:10 PM IST | With a lot of crests and troughs in the game, the match has finally fallen on the court of the Hurricanes. It has to be the spinners - especially Paddy Dooley (4-0-16-4) who tilted the momentum toward the Matthew Wade-led side.

It all started with Faf du Plessis taking on the Hurricanes’ bowlers inside the powerplay with support from Adam Lyth. He went on to score 32 runs from 16 deliveries and the powerplay saw 44 runs coming with the loss of the Proteas batter. A few quick wickets followed as Dooley and Riley Meredith got some volumes under the wicket’s column.

Scorchers were down at 51-3 and then the duo of Josh Inglis and Ashton Turner gave some hope to the Perth-based franchise. The duo glued a partnership of 75 runs together with Inglis (62 runs of 37 balls) taking on the bowlers after playing around the ground for singles and doubles for a while. Dooley came back in for his final over and removed Josh Inglis and Ashton Agar in the 16th over. This is where the momentum shifted and the scoring rate dropped.

The pressure was building and with 18 runs needed from 12 balls, Shadab Khan bowled a brilliant 19th over. In the end, 14 runs were needed from the last over and Nathan Ellis did the job to drive the Hurricanes past the finishing line.

Earlier in the game, Hobart Hurricanes won the toss and opted to bat first on their own backward. Ben McDermott was removed right in the first ball of the innings, courtesy of an in-jagger from Jason Behrendorff.

Soon, Matthew Wade, the skipper arrived at the scene and glued a partnership of 67 runs with D’Arcy Short. Surprisingly, it was Wade who scored 51 runs in that partnership and took on the bowlers. The southpaw brought the momentum back in the side of the Hurricanes and D’Arcy played the role of a grafter. They were 94-2 at the end of the drinks break and with a few more wickets, the run-scoring rate became quite sluggish.

Aaron Hardie removed Asif Ali and Joel Paris on back-to-back deliveries and the home side were pushed on the back foot. Soon, Tim David decided to play the bulk of the deliveries and hammered 46* runs from 28 deliveries to steer the scoreboard to 172.

Stay tuned for the presentation ceremony.

19.6 N Ellis to J Richardson
W WICKET!! CAUGHT!! That's it, Hurricanes crushed the three times champions by 8 runs. Fuller ball on the off and Richardson goes for a big one and lofts it to the long-off but didn't get enough wood on it as the ball goes straight on the throats of the long-off who makes no mistake and takes it easily.
Its all over for the Scorchers as they need 9 runs from the last ball.
19.5 N Ellis to A Tye
1lb Fuller and slower ball on the middle and leg and Tye gets beaten and wears it on the pads for a leg bye single.
19.4 N Ellis to J Richardson
1 Back of a length ball on the off and Richardson pulls it along the ground for a single.
19.3 N Ellis to A Tye
1 Fuller ball on the off and Tye hits it hard towards the extra cover but will only get a single.
12 runs needed from 4 balls now.
19.2 N Ellis to A Tye
0 Fuller ball around the 5th stump and Tye with a big swing and a miss.
19.1 N Ellis to A Tye
2 Slower ball outside the off and Tye lofts it high into the sky but the ball landed safely at the short mid-wicket. A couple of runs were added to the tally.
14 runs needed from the last over now. Terrific 19th over from Shadab Khan.
