Just when things started to get heated up in the middle and Ricky Bhui was about to unleash, the rain arrived and played the spoilsport! Coastal Riders will be delighted with the outcome but one would say this was unfair on the Bezawada Tigers Fortunately, they are not out yet, they will fight it out against the Rayalaseema Kings tomorrow in the 2nd Qualifier. That's it from us today, I am Ovaise Shariff signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Arnav Chopra and scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma.

Join us tomorrow at 6:30 PM IST for all the live action from the second qualifier.
Until then, it's Goodbye and Good night!!
The innings started with a careful start by the Tigers scoring 38 runs and losing just one wicket of Praneeth in the powerplay. Avinash looked good right from the start, scoring some good boundaries with Maheep Kumar at the other end. Riders bowled well to their credit with just 5 runs from the first 2 overs but 5 boundaries in the next 4 overs gave Tigers some momentum. Madha Deepak was the pick of the bowlers taking the opener's wicket and giving away just 12 runs.

The next 9 overs saw the Tigers scoring 80 runs and losing wickets of two set batters in form of Maheep and Avinash for 41 and 47 respectively. Ricky Bhui came in and scored some quick runs with two sixes and a four before rain played the spoilsport. All the fans at the stadium didn't move from their seats at all but eventually, it all ended in a big disappointment. The rain gods were not in the greatest of moods today and it was enviable that this match was going to get abandoned.

Great news for all the Coastal Riders fans as they have qualified to play the finals on the virtue of finishing on top of the table. Bezawada will be bitterly disappointed but they have another opportunity to make it to the finals in the Qualifier-2 against The Rayalaseema Kings.
10:20 PM IST | Ovaise: Terrible news, the match is been abandoned here at the VDCA stadium.
10:00 PM IST | Ovaise: I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there is nothing much to update, looks like rain will have the last laugh in this encounter.
UPDATE 9:20 PM IST: The rain shows no signs of stopping here, more covers are out in the middle as the ground staff are trying to protect the outfield. This looks like a bad day for cricket fans watching this contest.
UPDATE 8:35 PM IST: While the rain has stopped the covers are still out there in the middle, the umpires seem to be out there to the investigate the pitch conditions and deem if the ground is fit for play. Stay tuned as we will join you with further updates.
8:05 PM IST | Ovaise: Still raining at the venue. The covers are on but unlike the other days where the entire ground was covered, today only the playing area has been covered, So it shouldn't take a long time for groundsmen to get the ground ready. Stay tuned, we'll get you all the weather updates.
Ovaise: OH NO!! Rain interrupts play, the umpires have had enough and ask the players to make their way out, it has been drizzling throughout the course of this first innings and finally, the umpire says enough is enough and calls on the covers. Really frustrating for all the fans watching at the VDCA stadium and millions following it around the globe. Should be a short delay. Fingers crossed!!
16.2 C Stephen to R Bhui
6 SIXXXX!!! Banged in short, directed on the leg stump, Bhui picks up the length early and pulls it away in front of deep square leg, the ball travels all the way into the stands!! Tremendous hitting by the former Under 19 pro, he is showing the power he possesses!! OH NO!!! RAIN!!! The players are making their way out to the dugouts.
16.1 C Stephen to Rahul
1 We are back with the last 4 overs, Length delivery, 4th stump line outside off stump, Rahul pushes it towards the point region and scampers through for a single to get the dangerous Bhui on strike.
Time-Out!! After the end of 16 overs, Tigers have managed to put 125 runs on the board with the loss of 3 wickets. With Ricky Bhui and Sai Rahul still on the crease, Tigers will be eyeing at least 150 to be at par.
