That's it then from Qualifier 2. The Jamaica Tallawahs have reached the finals and will now play the most consistent and standout team of this year's CPL the Barbados Royals in the grand finale on Friday night. Both teams have won the title twice and will are aiming for their third CPL crown. Do join us for that clash from Providence, Guyana, and for all other cricketing action across the globe. For now, this is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Deepak Prakash, alongside scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Until next time, cheers and GOODBYE!
Shimron Hetmyer, Guyana Amazon Warriors Skipper: "I think we didn't take our chances well and the dropped catches cost us big time. The dropped catches and misfielding cost us and hence we lost the game. Brooks was special and we were not right there with the ball. I think the way we have played in this last week here and from where we were to reach Qualifier 2 is a tremendous achievement. I am proud of the boys. It's a pity that we ran out of steam towards the end and so we lost the two matches. We will look at areas to improve and come back stronger. The Warrior nation has supported us and thanks to everyone for their support. "
Rovman Powell, Jamaica Tallawahs Skipper: "It's a tremendous feeling. I think the credit to the squad and what they have all contributed to it, It's incredible. I think it's about leading from the front. The senior players push us and then the juniors also step up. The philosophy is simple. I said to him that I have watched Russell and Gayle in the past scoring but this 100 from Brooks is right up there with the best. I think the mindset is to be playing well. Barbados are playing well and are the best side. We will rest and put up our feet and then go again in a couple of days. We are confident of doing something special for our team."
Shamarh Brooks( Player of the match): This is my second visit to this franchise. I appreciate playing for this brand because Jamaica offered me the chance to demonstrate my talent at this level and in this style. Just glad to be in the final. For me, it's been a beautiful year. I'm taking it one step at a time. I am excited to take the field against Barbados on Friday night and look forward to the challenge. Very pleased with the effort of the crew. The men succeeded by following their strategy closely."
So, the Jamaica Tallawahs win this game by 37 runs to qualify for the finals as the Guyana Amazon Warriors bow out in front of their home ground. If one looks at this Warriors' innings in isolation, then one can say a good batting performance as they scored 189-8. But they were chasing a mountain of runs today and fell short tonight.

Chasing a mammoth target of 227 for an improbable win, Guyana lost Paul Stirling as usual as he fell for 2 runs. Gurbaz and Hope got starts but fell for 22 and 31 respectively as they had to take the bowling on and play shots. Keemo Paul fought for his 56 off 37 balls. Gudakesh Motie got 22* off 13 balls and Odean Smith got 24 off 14 balls towards the end. The skipper Hetmyer got 15 off 15 balls, but to be honest, they were never in the chase as they finished with 189-8 with the help of 10 extras given by the Tallawahs bowlers.

When you are defending 226, the bowling will automatically be good. A couple of wickets for Chris Green and Imad Wasim had a good game with 2-25 in 4 overs. following his 41* off 15 with the bat earlier in the day, Mohammad Amir got the first wicket before walking off injured. Nicholson Gordon and Rovman Powell got a wicket each towards the end. They did enough to make it into the finals.

Earlier in the game, Jamaica Tallawahs put into bat first by Shimron Hetmyer did not get off to the best of the starts. They lost their openers Kennar Lewis (0 off 2), and Brandon King (6 off 9) inside 3 overs. The pivotal moment of the game came when Shamarh Brooks was dropped off Romario Shepherd by Rahmanullah Gurbaz when he was batting on 5. This moment came back to haunt the Warriors in epic proportions. Brooks settled in, consolidated before he got better and brutal at the end of the innings. He brought up his maiden CPL hundred as he remained unbeaten on 109 off 52 balls.

Crucial contributions from the skipper Rovman Powell (37 off 23), Raymon Reifer (22 off 22) alongside Imad Wasim who scored an unbeaten and brilliant unbeaten 41 off 15 balls to power the score to 226-4 in 20 overs. The Tallawahs got 103 runs off the last 30 balls to take the game away from the Warriors. 11 extras were given by the Warriors.

It was a day to forget for the Guyana Amazon Warriors bowlers. A couple of wickets for Romario Shepherd and a wicket apiece for Imran Tahir, and Odean Smith. But all their bowlers went for runs especially at the death as Smith was taken to the cleaners. Imran Tahir kept it relatively tight, but the others were hammered to pieces.

So, a win for Jamaica Tallawahs as they reach the finals against the Barbados Royals on Friday night. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation ceremony that comes your way.
