After being asked to bat first, the Barbados Royals lost wickets quickly one after the other, and were eventually bowled out for 125 runs. The Royals' leading scorer, Jason Holder, scored 42 runs off 39 balls. On the other hand, Romario Shepherd was the best bowler, taking 3 wickets and conceding 14 runs in 3 overs.
The Warriors' innings, in response to 125 runs, got off to a rough start as Chandrapaul Hemraj departed in the opening over. He left the ground without opening his account. Shai Hope, and Gurbaz got the scoring going quickly, but Shai Hope didn't stick around for long, departing after 16 runs off 11 balls.
Shakib Al Hasan joined Gurbaz at number 4 and started scoring at a brisk pace. He completed his second fifty of the CPL on the occasion. The pair were able to add 79 runs for the 3rd wicket as Shakib departed, scoring 53 runs off 30 balls, and was followed by Hetmyer, who departed after scoring 10 runs off 5 balls. Keemo Paul, with an unbeaten 12 runs, in the end, sealed the match for the Warriors.
On the flip side, Obed McCoy was the pick of the bowlers for the Royals as he extracted a couple of wickets, giving away 22 runs in 3.3 overs. Kyle Mayors, Jason Holder, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman shared one wicket each.
