NIKHIL: So, we are done here with St. Lucia Kings winning the game by 61 runs.
St. Lucia Kings started off in a scintillating manner as both the openers took over the bowlers straight away. The Kings managed to score 61 for no loss in the powerplay. Charles and Faf batted well together for the First wicket partnership as they added 86 runs together. At one point a score of well over 180 looked like a walk in the park but the bowlers of the Patriots pulled it back nicely and restricted the Kings to 161 in 20 overs. Faf Du Plessis was the top scorer as he smashed 60 runs in just 35 deliveries.
For St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Dwaine Pretorius picked up 3 wickets, while Cottrell and Akila took a couple of wickets each. Rashid Khan took a wicket each.
In reply to the target set by the Kings, the Patriots started off on a low as they lost Fletcher without anything to show on the scoreboard. Lewis and Brevis then batted in an aggressive manner as the St. Lucia Kings scored 48 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the powerplay. Skipper Lewis smashed the bowlers all around the park scoring a quick-fire partnership of 24 runs in just 9 deliveries. The top order departed in the powerplay itself. The wickets kept tumbling and the Patriots lost their way in the run-chase. No batter took the responsibility to anchor the run chase as they fell short by 61 runs in this game
For St. Lucia Kings, Forde and Wiese took 3 wickets each today. Primus and Alzarri took a couple of wickets too.
