Deepak: That concludes the 3rd CPL match between St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and Barbados Royals. The match was reduced to 17 overs per side due to rain. Barbados Royals thumped the Patriots by 7 wickets.
Earlier Patriots scored 149 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 17 overs, which didn’t prove to be enough as the Royals easily chased down the total with 11 balls to spare.
The royals came out to chase down 150 runs and started their inning with a bang as they were able to manage to score 64 runs without losing any wickets in the powerplay. Rahkeem Cornwall and Kyle Mayers started destroying the bowlers from the first over but Cornwall departed just after the powerplay in the seventh over scoring 39 runs off the 25 balls. Skipper Corbin Bosch departed scoring 10 runs off 11 balls.
Meyers scored 73 runs in 46 balls and entertained everyone with good batting. In the end, Azam Khan (9 of 7 ) and David Miller (2 of 3 ) sealed the match for the Royals.
On the other hand, Skipper Dwayne Bravo picked up a couple of wickets giving away 33 runs in 4 overs. Dwaine Pretorius picked up one wicket.
