That's it from this game and the tri-series. Hope all of you enjoyed it as much as we had in bringing it to you. Both teams will be off to Australia now as this series has turned into a nice preparation for both teams going into the big tournament. Till next time, this is me, Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Akshaya Krishna Polya, alongside scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS!
Babar Azam now collects the trophy and now celebrates with the team as there are beaming smiles in the Pakistan camp and why not. They deserve all the accolades and have the much-needed confidence going to the T20 World Cup that is set to get underway Down Under in a couple of days' time.
Babar Azam (Pakistan Captain): "Definitely, well played. We bowled well towards the end of the first innings. They held the nerves to restrict the opponents. Definitely, Nawaz came out all guns blazing, finishing for the side. Back-to-back wins, and today it was great to win the final.

No, I thought the pitch would behave similarly throughout the match. Credits to the players for the way they played. I am happy with the overall performance. Yes, the fitness is there though we were playing regularly."
Kane Williamson (New Zealand Captain): "Great game of cricket. Pakistan are a very strong side. The way they changed the momentum in their favor was great. Disappointing for us. You always want 20 more runs I guess but the wicket was on the lower side and we have generally operated well this series.

Credit to Pakistan, they hit the ball beautifully. There is no blame for anybody (about Sodhi's 25-run over). It's a game of small margins. Even for an over that goes for too many, you aren't far away from changing the game in your favor.

That belief is crucial for us. Pakistan are a great team. Nice to make a contribution, obviously you want a few more and want to be on the winning side but it felt good. Got a par total probably, surely wanted a few more but Pakistan's death bowling was quite good. The Guys all did their roles well throughout the tournament."
Michael Bracewell (Player of the Series): "I think I was good with the ball but disappointed with the result. We lost this, and I am really disappointed with it. When you come to bowl in the middle, and you see Rizwan and Babar against you, it is hard to bowl at those world-class batters.

Although Pakistan's bowlers performed excellently in the dying stages, it was disappointing not to get some boundaries with the bat towards the end. Although rather depressing for us, there are certain advantages going into the World Cup.

I'm grateful for the opportunity I've been given. I'm attempting to absorb as much information as I can from the other spin bowlers in our team. I believe my skill set has significantly increased since eight months ago."
Mohammad Nawaz (Player of the Match): "I just backed myself to do the job. I wanted to do it for the team, and I have done it. I think batting in the middle order since domestic cricket has helped me. I need to play risky cricket in order to bring the match towards us.

He (Haider Ali) was amazing. He played well. And alongside him, I thought the time was right to attack the spinner. Fortunately, I could play the strokes and execute them well. The team management has assigned that role, and I am happy to be doing those.

From the Asia Cup, the side is playing well but couldn't win there. So, this win here certainly lifts our confidence moving forward to the World Cup."
10:50 AM IST: A terrific contest comes to an end as Pakistan bounces back to beat the hosts New Zealand by 5 wickets with 3 balls to spare. Iftikhar hits the winning runs as the middle-order steps up when Pakistan needed it the most.

Chasing a competitive target of 164 for the win, Pakistan got off to a steady start with Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan starting well. They put on 29 runs for the first wicket before the skipper Babar Azam fell for 15 off 14 balls. Shan Masood struggled for his 19 off 21 balls. Mohammad Rizwan looked good to go the distance as he scored 34 off 29 balls. The middle order which was weak stood up today.

Haider Ali stepped up and played a game-changing inning of 31 off 15 balls. Asif Ali missed out again while Mohammad Nawaz for the second game in a row played a terrific inning. Nawaz remained unbeaten on 38 off 22 balls while Iftikhar Ahmed chipped in with an unbeaten 25 off 14 balls as Pakistan with the help of 5 extras got to the victory target with 3 balls to spare and 5 wickets in hand.

Michael Bracewell was the pick of the bowlers for New Zealand with 2/14 in 4 overs. He was head and shoulders the best bowler for New Zealand as the others went the distance. A wicket apiece for Tim Southee, Blair Tickner, and Ish Sodhi. Sodhi's 25-run-over turned the table in favor of the Pakistanis. Boult was economical going for 28 runs in 4 overs. Sodhi went for 58 in his 4 overs.

Earlier in the game, New Zealand after being put into bat first got off to a blazing start. Finn Allen struck three boundaries in the first over before Naseem got Shah got him for 12. Devon Conway struggled for his 14 off 17 balls. It was a welcome return to form from New Zealand’s skipper Kane Williamson. His 25th T20I fifty held the New Zealand innings together. He top-scored with 59 off 38 balls.

Handy contributions from Glenn Phillips (29 off 22), Mark Chapman (25 off 19), and James Neesham (17 off 10) took New Zealand to 163/7 with the help of four extras given by the Pakistan bowlers. New Zealand could only muster 33 runs in the last five overs for the loss of 4 wickets.

It was an excellent comeback by the Pakistan bowlers, especially at the death. Haris Rauf was the pick of the bowlers with 2/22 in 4 overs. Naseem Shah was hit in the initial overs but came back well to finish with a couple of wickets for 38 runs in 4 overs. The two spinners Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz picked up a wicket each. Shadab had figures of 1/30 in 4 overs while Nawaz went for 33 runs in 4 overs apart from picking up a wicket. Mohammad Wasim went wicketless today as he was hit for 37 runs.

So, a win for Pakistan by 5 wickets as they win the Tri-Series. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation ceremony that comes your way soon.

Iftikhar Ahmed finishes things off in style as Pakistan wins the Tri-Series.
