That's all from match 17 of the TNPL, Chepauk Super Gillies with two wins in two have replaced the Lyca Kovai Kings in the points table. The competition is heating up as all teams are trying to make it to the playoffs. IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans will take on their fellow strugglers Salem Spartans tomorrow and join us for that game. Until then this is Shashank Surly signing off along with my co-commentator Vatsal Negandhi and our scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Goodnight and goodbye..
Kaushik Gandhi (Winning Skipper): "Happy to be on the winning side, especially with our batting performance, we still want to keep our A-game up in every game going forward. With the resources we have we believe till the end to finish the matches. Jagadeesan is a pillar of this team, we are not depending on any individual performances and try to play games as a unit."
R Sai Kishore (Player of the Match): "We needed this win badly, every game is important for us. Feeling a lot better this season, the batting is coming off well too. I have put in the hard yards and am getting the rewards in my batting aspect, credit goes to the coaches behind my rise especially R Prasanna."
Shahrukh Khan (Losing Captain): "We got a par score as the wicket got better as the innings progressed, we could had still pulled it off but we leaked  runs through the middle overs. Sai Kishore and Jagadeesan took the game away from us with that amazing stand, still proud effort from our boys tonight. We were still alive in the game till the 17th over, but few errors here and there cost us the game. The crowd here is amazing and we can't ask anything better, hope we bounce back in the next game."
Shashank: We have been served with proper entertainment today here at Coimbatore. Both teams fought hard to stay alive in this contest but it was Chennai Super Gillies night who triumph by 5 wickets and maintain their winning streak, they replace Lyca Kovai Kings at the third spot in the points table.

Chepauk Super Gillies won the toss and elected to bowl first on a slow pitch. Proved a good decision as M Siddharth struck early on, but Suresh Kumar (32 off 22) and Sai Sudharshan (27 off 25) rebuilt the innings with a steady stand of 51 from 46 but both were dismissed in successive deliveries. Super Gillies spinners, Sai Kishore and the rest choked the run flow and picked up wickets at regular intervals.

Lyca Kovai Kings were reeling at 100/6 after the 15th over. Skipper Shahrukh Khan (51* off 28) and Abhishek Tanwar (28 off 12) took on the onus as both slammed a 23 ball 59 run stand which ensured the Kings to post 170 on the board. Sai Kishore was the pick of the bowler with his superb spell of 2/25 from 4 overs as M Siddharth, R Alexander, Harish Kumar and Sonu Yadav picked up a wicket each.

The Kings came out roaring with the ball as the got rid of two in form batsman's Kaushik Gandhi (9 off 10) and S Radhakrishnan (8 off 10) right in the powerplay. At 48 for 3, Narayan Jagadeesan and R Sai Kishore were defiant to take their side home to a victory as both took their time to steady the innings by milking easy runs and hitting boundaries whenever it was on offer. Both added a mesmerizing stand of 92 from 59 balls, got the Gillies right back into the contest. Sai Kishore fell at the end after making an incredible 32 ball 48.

Jagadeesan made a great fifty on his home-ground, as he went on to make a scintillating knock of 75 from 51 balls which included 6 fours and 3 sixes .Abhishek Tanwar was the only bowler who looked to make things, ended with 3/20 off 3.5 overs but was lacking support from the others who didn't create much pressure post the powerplay. Stay tuned as the Post match presentation is coming up very soon.
