So, that's a wrap from the ultimate test between India and England and the series is shared between the two nations- 2-2. This was Anurag Dasgupta, alongside Gargi Raut, Arijit Kundu, and scorer analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Hope you've loved our coverage and stay tuned to our network as various other series unfurls.
Ben Stokes: "Na, when you have clarity, it makes things a lot easier (On chasing such a big total). 378 five or six weeks ago would have been scary, but not anymore. Jonny and Root should get the applause for the win. But what the openers did was incredible. They shifted the momentum on our side.

We take away the scoreboard and how many runs to chase. The objective was to take wickets, and we did that. We are trying to rewrite how Test cricket is being played in England and this is something we are looking to carry forward.

We want to give life to Test cricket. It's amazing that in such a short span of time, we have brought new fans to the stadium, supporting us. We want to make a positive mark."
Jasprit Bumrah: "Aah, I wont go that far as well,  but yes would like to contribute with the bat whenever I get an opportunity. That's the beauty of test cricket right! I think yesterday we fell short with the bat and later let the opposition come back in. I think that's where we lost the momentum. If you go back, oh yeah the first match, the rain came in and we could've won the series. both teams played good cricket and at the end of the day, it was a good game. He(Rishab) and Jaddu got back in a crucial time and blended a good partnership. But we are focusing on our strengths, We felt that we could've been a much straighter. Thats was the conversation after lunch. Ah, see that's not what I decide. it was a new challenge, and an honour to lead the team."
Player of the series (India): Jasprit Bumrah
Joe Root: "I love playing here, really pleased with the performance. I love this team, led by a great mate. He has got the full backing of everyone. It's been great to see how things have gone for us and it is our responsibility to see how we take it further. Great partnership with Jonny, love playing with him. Really exciting times for us. We have been playing some positive cricket and hope this continues going forward."
Player of the series (England): Joe Root
Jonny Bairstow: "In the last match, we've played some fascinating cricket. Last couple of years have been tough. It's been tough on me. But the last couple of months have been good for me. The crowd has been great for us. I'm enjoying my cricket here. Not afraid, I'm failing but taking the good from it. You gonna play, win and lose. Just taking the best out of it. Ah, its all down to the coach. Shift from the momentum that the Indian side have put on us, amazing players in our ranks too. This morning's a different morning for us. We've grown up playing together. In the Yorkshire academy as well. its been fortunate for me to do this today and always a special moment."
Player of the match: Jonny Bairstow.
Tine for the presentation ceremony.
Joe Root: "Ben ahead of the toss said that we're gonna chase and not bat first. Credits also goes to the openers. The way they smashed the bowlers all around the park, against a world-class attack. Jonny's been in and out of the side, and you can blame me for that. But he's been exceptional this summer. I feel, I'm playing some nice cricket, feel at a good place, and i need to work hard and maintain that. Its a game of failure and when you are get going well, you need to keep up with it."
Stay tuned for the post-match presentation.
India got 416 in the first innings - Courtesy of stellar knocks from Rishabh Pant (146) and Ravindra Jadeja (104). If that was not a good news for team India, they bundled out England for 284, and had a healthy lead of 132. Bairstow was the star of the first innings, with a brilliant counter-attacking hundred under immense pressure.

But despite being in the driving seat, the visitors let it go as their second innings syndrome came back to haunt them. The openers were dismissed early, Kohli continued to struggle, but this time Pant and Pujara came to the rescue. England bowled well and dismissed India for 245, needing 378 to chase.

We saw 'BAZBALL' at its full effect as the England openers gave a steady start and laid the foundation for the middle order batters. With the wicket getting better for batting, Root and Bairstow made a mockery of the target and chased it down without even breaking a sweat. Bairstow notched up his second hundred of the match and was amply supported by Root who just can't do anything wrong at the moment.
