Match Details
That is all we have from the commentary box today. Till the next match, that is the T20I of Irish Women, it’s good-bye and good-night from me (Satyam Rattan), my co-commentators (Sai and Chinmaya) along with our scorers - Raju and Yogesh.
The North West Warriors started cautiously after the early dismissal of William Porterfield. They gave a good example of ‘Slow and Steady wins the race’. The huge partnership between Stephen Doheny and Andy McBrine was the reason for their score going past the 300-run mark. While Doheny was playing the anchor role, McBrine played at a brisk pace and hit a century. On the other hand, Doheny fell short of 3 runs of his century. Their partnership of more than 200 runs was the turning point of the match.
The Northern Knights also played well but their batsmen took too many chances and gave away their wickets too early in the innings. They had lost four wickets before their score reached 100 runs. Their hopes laid on Aniruddha Chore who was there right since the start of their innings while wickets fell on the other end. He accelerated his innings after Rock started hitting cleanly for boundaries before he fell for 65 runs. Adair also gave a lot of hope after hitting a four and two big sixes in one over. Together they had taken Knights to the mid-way mark. But the wickets of Adrian and then Rock in quick succession almost diminished their realistic hopes of chasing the target. The tailenders did really well to fight till the last. It was a good game of Cricket.
