Milestone
What a tournament. This brings us to the end of a fascinating season of the IPL. Till the next time, it's ta-ta and good-night from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty), my fellow commentators Akshaya Krishna Polya and Anirudh Modi along with our scorer/statistician Paras Yadav.
Sourav Ganguly and Jay Shah present the IPL trophy to Hardik Pandya and the celebration begins. This will go on all night. This has been a night to remember, a season to remember for the Gujarat Titans.
Hardik Pandya | Gujarat Titans Captain: "The whole support staff and the support shown by players was fantastic. This is a great example for all teams in the world, if you build a great team, a great group of people, then you can win. We try to pick bowlers who make you win matches anyway, we know it's a batters game and it's important to have them to but bowlers can win you games. A lot of time when we won games, we spoke about how we can improve from here. All the compliments go to the support staff, they made sure the players feel at home. I've count myself in lucky ones, I've been in 5 finals and won all of them. This is a special one because we wanted to create a legacy, the future generations will remember this for a long time to come. Thank you Gujarat you were fantastic."
Hardik Pandya collects the winning check.
Sanju Samson | Rajasthan Royals Captain: "Absolutely, as you said it was a special season for us. Happy to give the crowds a good game. We had a good team and everyone did well throughout the season. Going into the auctions, we needed to get some bowlers. We needed good quality bowlers and got what we were looking for. We did had them in our side. They performed well too. This season we had different strategies. Each and every player were given  different roles and responsibilities. See, with Jos playing the way he did up at the top throughout the season, the roles for others changed during the course of the season. The roles were assigned having seen the match-ups, strike-rates against the particular bowler, boundary hitting capabilities and many other things. Yeah, it was a great season. We will comeback stronger in the next season. In the end I want to tell a thing. Congratulations Gujarat Titans. They are the deserved team to lift the cup."
Sanju Samson collects the runners-up Trophy.
Kumar Sangakkara: "The team really focused, gel together and played fantastic cricket. We had huge contributions for Jos, Yuzi, Ash, Prasidh, we can go on and on, which means that everyone in that side contributed well. We could also change a few others in terms of forms and match tactics, it's been a great journey and a great franchise to be a part of. I appreciate the journey, all the good things that have been done, we have to think about how we can get better next year. It's not about recreating what has happened, its about looking forward. It's about embracing things and at the same time as an individual and working on your skills throughout the year, working on the whole person."
The match officials will now receive their mementoes.
Jos Buttler | Player of the Tournament: "Yeah, it does. Obviously, I performed well throughout the season. Barring tonight I played well I guess. Well done to Hardik and co. It was a great support shown by my team and coaching staffs as well. It was about trusting the process and continue what goes your way. Our boys played well throughout. Unfortunately, we couldn't win. I sometimes just talk to myself to relive from the pressure. It has been a great occasion tonight. I am happy to be involved in such a moment. Disappointed not to win! It is good to see the crowds to be back in the stadium. In the previous two seasons they weren't there and it was played in the bio-bubbles behind the closed doors."
Jos Buttler is the Upstox Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
Evin Lewis bags the Catch of the Season award for his incredible take to dismiss Rinku Singh in their last group game against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Jos Buttler wins the Orange Cap for scoring 863 runs during the course of the season.
Yuzvendra Chahal bags the Purple Cap for bagging 27 wickets in the season. A dominant season for the exceptional leg-spinner. 27 wickets, the most by any spinner in the history of IPL.
Jos Buttler wins the Ruppay on the Go 4s of the Season Award for smashing 83 fours.
Lockie Ferguson bags the Swiggy Instamart Fastest Delivery of the season award for his 157.3 kph thunderbolt bowled earlier today.
Jos Buttler also bags the Cred Powerplayer of the season award.
Gujarat Titans and the Rajasthan Royals wins the Paytm Fair Play Award jointly. The two teams who got to the final bags the fairplay award as well.
Jos Buttler is the Dream11 Game Changer of the season for accumulating most fantasy points during the course of the season.
Dinesh Karthik is the Punch Super Striker of the Season for maintaining a strike rate of 183 during the season. Hardik Pandya collects the award on DK's behalf.
