This is Anirudh, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay and Karthik, as we bid-adieu to all our viewers tonight! Do join us for the next one!
KL Rahul | Lucknow Super Giants Captain: "I have to make up for all the fines and over rates I'll be getting after the game. Yes and no, I try and savor the moment, not get too ahead, try to play the situation, assess the conditions as quickly as possible and pace my innings according to that. Enjoying playing, responsibility and trying to do the best for my team. First thought was that just get the bat on ball, feel good, get off the mark and get as mentally strong as you can be. This venue has been good to me but the first ball ducks play on your mind but I'm lucky I could play long and make a contribution to my team. Like I said, I try to simplify my game by seeing what's expected out of me, we do bat deep and our No. 8 has hardly batted so far. When you have depth in your team, you can afford to take chances and that's the probably the reason to do what's expected at the best of my ability. Teams that can defend well or bowl well in the power play are the teams that win the tournament. We were very clear going into the auction and I'm big on having all rounders in my team. It makes my life easier to have options."
KL Rahul is also the Player of the Match for his scintillating ton.

Krunal Pandya: "A hard-fought effort, a collective effort with the ball. We executed what he had planned It was a terrific knock (On KL Rahul's knock), leading from the front on that wicket. Two balls is so less to understand the wicket, I had no idea. KL was saying it was stopping a bit. Really happy for Chameera. It is important for us to get better as a team. Mohsin is also a bright prospect. I was thanking God that I got him out, else he would have eaten my brains that he got me out. The coaching staff is doing pretty well. What's more important for me is process, if you follow that, the results will come."
Rohit Sharma | Mumbai Indians Skipper: "I thought we bowled pretty okay. It was a good pitch to bat on and we didn’t bat well enough. You have a target in front and we lacked partnerships. Some irresponsible shots from us including me cost us the game. It happens but they bowled pretty well and kept building the pressure. We haven’t batted well enough in this tournament. The whole thing goes to the batting unit. Whoever is batting out in the middle has to take the responsibility and play till the end. It has been hurting us. We need to make sure that one guy bats along from one end. Looking at how the tournament has gone, everyone has come into the discussion. There are a lot of players who are sitting on the bench. But we have to give the players in the XI enough opportunities. They have different roles when they play for their countries and it’s difficult for them to adjust here. There is always a discussion about who comes in and who goes out but we have to make sure that we get the combination right. As far as I’m concerned, I make sure that the players get enough opportunities to prove themselves"

WELP! MUMBAI INDIANS SLUMP TO ANOTHER DEFEAT IN THIS SEASON'S TATA IPL! LUCKNOW SUPER GIANTS HAVE DEFEATED THEM BY 36 RUNS! The morale and confidence of the Mumbai Indians' dressing room will have reached another low today.

Mumbai Indians started the match by deciding to bowl first and came out with a clear plan. Claiming Quinton de Kock's wicket in the 4th over of the match, Lucknow Super Giants were under pressure at the end of the power play, scoring just 32/1. But what they were not prepared for was the skipper KL Rahul. The KLASSY customer smashed a century to make it consecutive tons against Mumbai Indians after the one he scored 8 days ago. His innings of 103 runs from 62 balls included 12 boundaries and 4 sixes and ensured Lucknow posted 168/6 in their 20 overs.

Rohit and Ishan came out to chase this down. While Ishan's struggles continued, Rohit was in good touch. His well paced knock led Mumbai to score 43/0 in their power play and as things stood then, they were on course for a comfortable victory. But come the first ball of the 8th over, something happened that baffled everyone watching. Ishan Kishan's unlucky and harsh dismissal saw him walk back to the dug out having scored just 8 runs off 20 balls. Soon, wickets started tumbling, Brevis, Rohit and Surya all followed suit and Mumbai Indians were staring down a huge hole at 67/4 in the 12th over. Kudos to Lucknow Super Giants and their exceptional slog overs bowling which restricted the might of Tilak Varma and Kieron Pollard to claim the victory for themselves.

8 games played, 8 defeats faced, even a certain GOD'S birthday was not enough to revive a faltering Mumbai Indians' IPL season. With them out of the race for playoffs, they can now have the freedom to experiment and go back to the drawing board to try and analyze where they failed, on the pitch and at the auction table.

Lucknow Super Giants re-enter the top 4 places and are firmly in the mix to qualify for playoffs. A significant victory and a double over the most successful team in IPL history, is there a better day than this at the office?
