That brings us to the end of the proceedings from a doubleheader Saturday. We have a doubleheader tomorrow yet again. Till we take a breather before another fascinating Sunday, it is me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) signing off on the behalf of my co-commentators Anirudh Modi and Ovaise Shariff.
Man of the match, Dinesh Karthik: Lovely question, you put me on the back foot right away, my aim is to do something special for the country. I thought Kuldeep was blowing well, I was choosing the bowler to target and it's paying off at the moment. It feels good to know that people associate calmness with me, You need to be well prepared and one has to try to stay in the moment. (on Shabaz) He has a calm head and he is not far away from doing something special with the bat, He hits them hard and a long way.
Faf du Plessis, RCB skipper- Well a point for me. Look it is important from the top order perspective we are not contributing the runs we would like but the lower order is getting us through which is always a good thing. The way Maxi came and out the [pressure back on them. I didn't expect we will get to the total which we got but kudos to DK and Shahbaz at the end. Today was quite a bit of planning. Especially the parts of the play in the middle and especially in the death. We hadn't been good in the death so it was planning today. The bowlers were fantastic tonight. If the team has a start like that most teams tend to fall away so it's a great win for us. Yeah, its a nice thong with experience. When it's going well and even when it's not going well. Its really important. The way DK is playing at the moment. He is in the form of his life. He is so clear in his game plan. No luck involved. Such calm and composure. Tonight again dew was a big thing. I will like other guys to tell me whether there is dew. Today I heard there will be no dew but we got some dew. It's just one game at a time. Keep nice and composed and hopefully, we can play some good cricket.

Rishabh Pant is the Punch Super Striker of the Match.
Time for the post match presentation ceremony with Harsha Bhogle.

Arya: It was never going to be an easy run chase for the Delhi Capitals on a tricky wicket. They needed their dynamic opening duo of Prithvi Shaw and David Warner to come good and buoy they came out all guns blazing. The right and left-hand combinations seem to be working for DC as they shared an opening stand of 50 runs before Mohammed Siraj got the prized wicket of Shaw as he couldn't time the attempted pull and held out to deep square leg.

Out came Mitchell Marsh at No 3 and he put so much pressure on Warner at the other end as he kept struggling for timing. He had a torrid time with the bat and struggled his way to a knock of 14 of 24 deliveries and slowed up the game considerably for DC in the middle overs. David Warner who was batting brilliantly had to take the undue risk and it didn’t pay off.

He went for the switch hit and completely missed that fuller one from Hasarnga which thudded onto his pads. The on-field umpire gave it not out but Faf du Plessis reviewed it straight away and it was three reds on ball tracking adn Warner had to take the long walk back to the pavilion. Things became difficult for Rishabh Pant as Marsh kept struggling to time the ball. Pant played some delightful shots and kept DC in the game. He plundered the RCB bowlers all around the park during his blistering knock of 34 of just 17 deliveries.

Mitchell Marsh’s woes ended when he was run out in an unfortunate manner while backing up at the non-striker’s end. Pant struck that well and it ricocheted of the fingers of Hasaranga and clattered onto the stumps at the bowling end. Rovman Powell was dismissed very first delivery as his woeful time in the IPL continued. Shardul Thakur struck a couple of lusty blows but in the end, the target was way too much. Hazlewood bowled a brilliant penultimate over which eventually sealed the game for RCB.

Josh Hazlewood: Tonight it was a lovely wicket for batting in first six. As the game went on, we bowled well, took the pace off. I think dot balls are huge in T20, I think it's because of dot ball that the batsman feels pressure. We tried it a lot last match, sometimes it works and something it doesn't go our way, it all depends on it different conditions you play on and how you deliver them under pressure. Lots of great energy with Virat and Faf on the field.
Rishabh Pant: I think Warner batted beautifully and gave us every chance. We could have been better in the middle overs, cannot blame Marsh it was his first game too and that was the difference. The wicket got better to bat on as the innings went on and that one over from, Fizz was the game-changer for us. At the end we were under the pump, especially in this match and it was commendable to get us so close to the win. Obviously, one side of the boundary was very short and they took advantage because of which I changed Kuldeep's end. We are gonna talk about what we could have done better but we gotta learn from our mistakes and win the next one."
Arya: A convincing victory for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the end. It was Dinesh Karthik's night and the bowlers have ensured it ends on a happy note for the Royal Challengers Bangalore who came back into the game from a precarious situation. DC despite having a strong unit and power hitters all the way down to 8 couldn't quite chase this down as the RCB bowlers were well on top and kept their calm in the end to register a 16 runs victory.

19.6 H Patel to A Patel
1 Last delivery of the match coming up and things will end with a single. Pulled around the corner by Axar Patel down deep square leg for a single.
19.5 H Patel to K Yadav
1 A fuller one this time on the stumps and Kuldeep ends up getting an inside edge as he tries to go down town. A single taken.
19.4 H Patel to K Yadav
4 That has been pulled away brilliantly by Kuldeep Yadav down the deep backward square leg region for a boundary. That was banged in short by Harshal Patel and Kuldeep Yadav gets into position and times the pull very well.
