So that's it from match no.23 of the Indian Premier League 2022! Punjab Kings win their third and Mumbai Indians lose fifth on the trot! Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ovaise and Akshaya Krishna, our scorer Paras Yadav and statistician Shreyas Shridharan. I hope you enjoyed the coverage, stay tuned for more cricket coverage from across the globe. Stay safe and take care.
Mayank Agarwal | Player of the match and Punjab Kings Skipper: "It was a good night and very very happy to play a role in the win. Crucial two points for the win. I though there were lots of ups and downs and crucial moments in the game and we won those moments. We want to play aggressive and hard cricket and we showed great intent with being smarter as we kept wickets in hand. In the last game against Gujarat we lost wickets to Rashid when it was not required and tonight we tried to not lose wickets against the main bowlers. It was hard but great comeback from Rahul in the end. We changed the strategy when Tilak was batting well. We tried to bring back the main bowlers to pick up a wicket and then the run out happened. We don't just rely on Rabada for wickets, yes he is the main guy but the others are doing a decent job for us. We are playing good cricket overall. If we continue to do so, we can do special things."
Mayank Agarwal is the player of the match!
Odean Smith: "It's a coincidence that 4 in a row I was under the same situation, as they say, what does kill you makes you stronger.  I held my nerve in the tough situation, bowled according to plan and got the success. (On Unadkat's dismissal) I thought it would be hard for him if he goes straight down the ground or on the leg-side."
Rohit Sharma | Mumbai Indians Skipper: "Ahh!! I mean hardly anything to find out from that game. Couple of crucial runouts there which shouldn't have happened but it happens. See we batted well in patches. We came back stronger in the middle and end overs but couldn't finish unfortunately. They bowled well at the back end. Look we are not winning games. We need find a way to win a game firstly. But I don't want to take anything from the guys who played well. Kudos to Punjab they played well today. See it doesn't make any impact on our side. We played a bit poorly so far and we need to play good cricket now. Kings batted well. 90 odds for the first wicket. 190 plus and I though it was chase able. We need to go back to the drawing room and comeback better now."
A horrible start to the Mumbai Indians' campaign this season as they lose their fifth straight game. After deciding to chase and restricting the Kings to a total of 198-5, the MI openers were soon back in the hut inside the powerplay as skipper Rohit Sharma (28 off 17) failed to capitalize after getting a good start.

Dewald Brevis (49 off 25) was in his element and top scored for MI and added 84 runs with Tilak Varma (36 off 20) for the third wicket. Varma soon followed suit and was dismissed in the 13th over. Suryakumar Yadav continued his excellent form as he scored 43 off 30 deliveries but failed to get any support from the other end in the final phase of the innings.

Vaibhav Arora (1-43) and Kagiso Rabada (2-29) bowled a magnificent spell in the powerplay alongside Arshdeep Singh (0-29) but Odean Smith was the pick of the bowlers as he finished with figures of 4-30 in a three over spell. Rahul Chahar had a forgettable evening with the ball in hand as he ended up conceding 44 runs in his four over spell.

Its a near impossible and difficult task for the Mumbai Indians now as they need to win eight out of their remaining nine games to stay in the contention to qualify. Punjab Kings at the other hand have jumped up to number 3 in the points table with 3 wins in five matches. Stay tuned for the post match coverage.

W WICKETTT!!! Odean Smith gets his fourth wicket. Back of a length delivery on the off. Mills backs away and slashes at it and but in the end manages it only from the outside half of the bat and Mayank takes another catch at short extra covers. Mumbai Indians lose five on the trot!!! Punjab Kings win by 12-runs.

19.4 O Smith to J Bumrah
W WICKETTT!!! Back of a length delivery on the fifth stump line. Too quick for Bumrah. He goes on the back foot top edges this pull towards the third man area. Dhawan runs a bit backwards from point and takes this easily.
19.4 O Smith to J Bumrah
WD WIDE. Short delivery but very wide outside the tram line. Bumrah tries to reach out at that but it is very far from his reach.

19.3 O Smith to J Unadkat
W WICKETTT!!!! But more importantly it is a dot. Mayank Agarwal at short extra covers peddling backwards take this catch. Fuller length delivery outside the off. Unadkat on the front foot goes hard at it and finds the top edge flying very high in the air. Only as far as Agarwal it goes.
19.2 O Smith to J Unadkat
2 Two more to the total. 14 required off 4 now. Around the wicket as he changes the angle. Fuller length and on the off. Pace off the delivery. Unadkat bends down and slaps it down the ground and Shikhar at long off fields it. Two more for the men in blue.
19.1 O Smith to J Unadkat
6 SIXXX!!! Odean Smith to bowl the last over from over the wicket. Undakat gets the maximum here. Back of a length delivery on the middle and leg line. Unadkat on the back foot pulls it and the ball goes well over the deep mid wicket for a biggie. Odean Smith is under the pressure again. Anyone remembering Tewatia today?
