So that's it from our coverage from Match 22 of the Indian Premier League as the Chennai Super Kings get their first couple of points on the table. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshaya Krishna and Ajay Ahire alongside our scorer and analyst Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more cricket coverage from around the globe! Good night and stay safe!
Shivam Dube: "We were looking for the first win and I am happy and honored to contribute to the first win. I am more focused this time and focusing on my basics. I spoke to seniors and even Mahi bhai asked me to focus and work on my skills. I just wanted to time the ball really well by staying still and trying to maintain the balance. Someone like Yuvraj Singh is a role model for the left hander. I respect him a lot and lots of people tell me that I play like him. As the situation demands and as the coaches and captain ask me, I am ready to bat at any position."
Shivam Dube is the player of the match!
Ravindra Jadeja (Winning Captain): "This is the first victory as captain ever. I want to dedicate to my wife as the first victory is always special. As a team we came good, as a batting unit everyone did their job especially Shivam and Robbie. Our owners and management don't put any pressure on me. They motivate me, I always try to pick the brains of my seniors. Mahi bhai is always there for me. It will take time to get things going, I am still learning. We have plenty of experience in our dressing room. Experience comes into play. We don't panic early, we try to keep ourselves calm, back ourselves and play good cricket. This is the momentum we have got, we will try to continue with the same."
Robin Uthappa: "Ah!! Just nothing. We were just amazed as he was (about Rayudu's catch). He said he can contribute in some way to the team. Dube was magnificent. He just got set and then took on the bowlers. Once I was set and saw Maxwell came to bowl his third over, I took the charge against him. Not really, at the point it made obvious that we need to switch on. Once he was set, I gave him the strike against the spinners and took back the strike when the pacers were bowling. Yeah, haha, I am relieved with that win and the team as well. We do miss Deepak Chahar but we got the news today early morning. You know what he offers and he has done a superb job with ball for us. With the young players around and injuries we have, we worked hard for the victory. We stayed together even when we were at the dumps."
Faf Du Plessis(Losing Skipper): "First of all first 7 overs we were good. In the middle overs, they played the spinners really well and a partnership of such caliber speaks for itself. To chase that big total you need a huge opening partnership and a big partnership to follow then. The Chennai spinners bowled really well and took the game away from us. Yes, we certainly missed Harshal today. In any team he is irreplaceable. It's a big miss for us. Just go and play yourself that was the message at the start of the chase. You need to have good partnerships but we failed today. 20 runs short of a huge total is been a huge achievement for us."
Brilliant exhibition for T20 cricket as Chennai Super Kings get their first points in this season! After a blockbuster partnership between Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube in the first innings propelled the Kings to 216 for four in their 20 Overs, the excellent performance with the ball in the second innings made sure RCB didn't get too close to the total as the Super Kings win by 23 runs.

Sri Lankan mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana struck twice in the powerplay and twice afterwards to finish with match winning figures of 4-33 in his spell of four overs to push back the Challengers even further in the pecking order.

RCB's middle order and lower middle order showed some resistance but regular fall of wickets ensured that the Super Kings remained on top throughout the innings despite some hiccups. Glenn Maxwell got a good attacking start but was sent back to the hut by Jadeja, who got him out for the seventh time in the history of IPL.

Shahbaz Ahmed (41 off 27) and debutant Suyash Prabhudessai (34 off 18) carried the momentum and added 60 runs for the fifth wicket. Wicketkeeper and undoubtedly the best finisher of this season so far, Dinesh Karthik charged an assault and ended up scoring 34 off 14 deliveries before holing out in the 18th over.

Ravindra Jadeja bowled an expensive spell but picked up 3 wickets for 39 runs in his four. Dwayne Bravo and Mukesh Choudhary chipped in with a wicket each with the latter getting the prized wicket of Virat Kohli.

Moeen Ali was excellent with his off spin at the top and conceded just 19 runs in his three overs whereas Chris Jordan only bowled a couple of overs and conceded 20 in his spell. RCB now stand at number 5 in the points tally whereas CSK move to number nine pushing the Mumbai Indians down at the last spot who are yet to win a match in this season. Stay tuned for the post match coverage.
