Kohli joined Anuj Rawat and both played sensibly and struck the big shots whenever the scoring rate went up. A 80 runs partnership for the 2nd wicket set the platform for the run-chase. Rawat was still in the crease and played some exceptional shots while Kohli played the ball on itโs merit and made sure that the run-chase was easy peasy for them in the end.
Rawat was unfortunately run-out as Ramandeep Singh inflicted a sensational direct hit but by then, RCB was within touching distance of the target. Kohli was also dismissed in a controversial manner by Deval Brevis in the very first delivery of his IPL career. Kohli was livid with the decision as he felt there was a clear inside edge there.
There was a deviation but the 3rd umpire thought there was no conclusive evidence to overturn the onfield decision. Eventually, Maxwell slammed a couple of boundaries to finish the match off in style.
