Milestone
That brings us to the end of a fascinating encounter and it still hasn't fathomed out in the last three overs. We will be back for tomorrow for another IPL clash. Till then it's good-night as I try to recover from this incredible knock from Pat Cummins. Pat Cummins | Man of the Match: "I think I am too surprised with the way I batted. I just batted normally and this happened. Bumrah, he is a class bowler and I just responded to his line and lengths. Haha!! I will get to bat in some higher positions in the Test side as the messages about my innings would have been sent already I guess. We have the same core in the squad as of the last season. Some new guys have came in and performing well. Baz and co is doing amazing job with us. We have depth both in bowling and batting and we have shown it in the games so far."
Shreyas Iyer Kolkata Knight Riders Captain: "Extraordinary. I was sitting in the dugout and seeing him striking the ball was unbelievable. The time out was approaching and I passed the message for Venky to anchor the innings and Pat to go for it and Pat finished it off in style. I told him to time the ball well since he was overhitting it initially. We have to take more responsibility with the bat, One of the top-4 will have to take responsibility to bat deep and anchor the innings. We haven't played our best cricket yet, but happy to get to 6 points. I think the conditions were similar during both the powerplays. It was sticky and hard and I think when I came in, it was similar, but of course, as we went along, things became a lot easier. I am happy with the win, but I will reiterate we have not played our best game yet."

Arya: The run-chase would have been a tricky one for the Kolkata Knight Riders given the fact that dew was never going to be a factor in Pune. Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer started off in a sedate fashion and it was an excellent bouncer from Tymal Mills which got rid of Ajinkya Rahane. Daniel Sams then got the wicket of Shreyas Iyer to put MI in control at the end of the powerplay. KKR’s powerplay score read 35/2 with Rahane and Shreyas Iyer back in the hut.
It was some brilliant bowling up front by the Mumbai pacers that restricted KKR’s run flow. Sam Billings smashed a couple of incredible sixes before he was dismissed by Murugan Ashwin as he bowled well outside the off and ended up holding out at long-off. Venkatesh Iyer played well but wasn’t in full control. Nitish Rana struck an incredible six, to begin with and then was dismissed by Murugan Ashwin.
Andre Russell was sent up the order and he smashed a six and a four before falling at the hands of Tymal Mills. The match was in the hands of Mumbai Indians but it was something really special from Pat Cummins which made a really close match a cakewalk for KKR in the end. He kept tonking sixes after sixes and it was quite incredible as a viewer to see something of that sort.
Arya: There are days when you have to drool over a particular performance and today it was provided by Pat Cummins today. What an incredible knock this was. It will be a bitter pill to swallow for the Mumbai Indians as they were well in control of the match for the majority of the 2nd innings but it was only the innings of Pat Cummins which left everyone shell shocked as he took KKR home with four overs to spare. He came out all guns blazing and struck the ball splendidly.
Venkatesh Iyer: " Other than Pat, it looked tricky to bat on. Glad to be there till the end of the innings. There will be days when you won't hit the ball well, I had to hang in there and play the anchor role and let the other batters hit from the other end. Happy to do the job for the side."
Rohit Sharma | Mumbai Indians Captain: "I thought he played really well. Never expected that he would bat like that. Cummins played like that and I am out of words. We batted well enough to post 161 and then reduced them 5 for around the 80s. But then Cummins took the game away from us. It is hard to digest for us. I don't know what to say. We had it with us but just that an incredible innings taking away the victory. We know that they had batting depth with Narine around who can hit some shots. Haha!! I have been in this position many times. Yeah, thank you."
Arya: WOWWWWW WOWWWW WOWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!! This was incredible from Pat Cummins and it will take a hell of time for this to sink in for the Mumbai Indians. An incredible unbeaten 56 of just 15 deliveries to finish the match off in just 16 overs.
Akshaya: He is made it look so easy. Just now I was talking about the nail-biter and this match is done and dusted in the 16th over. Cummins take a bow man. With 35-needed in 30-balls, Cummins has done it in a over. Oh buoy what an innings!!!

6 I haven't seen anything of this in my distant memory. Pat Cummins ends up with 56 of just 15 deliveries and what an incredible knock this has been. Was another length delivery from Daniel Sams on the off-stump and Cummins thumps this well over the straight boundary for a maximum and finishes off the match in style.It was something unreal and I feel privileged to be part of the commentary panel in such a fascinating finish.
