That’s it for today! KKR are on top of the table now with 2 wins in 3 games and a massive NRR of 0.843. Russell is back in form and how, 70 off just 31! Do join us tomorrow for the doubleheader Saturday tomorrow! Until then, this is Shubham signing off along with my co-commentators Ninaad and Sourya and our scorer/analyst, Probuddha Bhattacharjee. Goodnight and stay healthy!
Umesh Yadav, Purple Cap holder/ Man of the Match: "Only one thing makes you better, practise. I have been working hard at it  and improving my game. I have played with Mayank in the nets and did not expect him to charge down on the first ball, he seems to sit back on the back foot sometimes and I bowled a straight ball that trapped him. I am trying to work on my ideal line and length with my coaches. Only pace does not help you. Am focusing on the lines that can help me strike."
Shreyas Iyer | Winning captain:  We were stunned by Punjab's approach. Didn't expect them to come so hard at us in the first few overs. They were timing the ball well and that's what I looked to do as well. We got early wickets in the powerplay even though we gave a few extra runs. My plan was to keep my best bowlers for their hard-hitters. And that's why I kept Varun and Sunil for late. They made the job easy for me. They come out with their own strategies. They know what their plans are for the batsmen. They know what they are doing. To be honest, it was great to see Russell hitting. It was Russell Muscle. Umesh told me that he was getting older, but I told him that he was getting fitter. I see him wherever I go, at the gym, and he is working very hard. I know how to get the work done from him, and he has been a wonderful colleague.

Andre Russell | Orange Cap holder: "Feeling nice, I knew what I can do. Was good to have someone like Sam at the other end who could rotate the strike and hang around. Very happy I could do a job for the team. And once am set I could get going. Am only thinking about bowling in the death, we have quite a few good bowlers. I can at least bowl two overs in some games and be a part of it. We were wickets down when I came in and after me it was Sunil and the bowlers. We planned to build a partnership first. I noticed that that ball was not spinning at one end, so we decided to attack that end and rotate the strike at the other where Chahar was bowling really well it was gripping. And I knew it will get easier once the pacers came on."

Mayank Agarwal | Punjab Kings captain: "We didn't bat well enough. We showed some real fight with the ball initially but then DreRuss came and just got going so credit to him for taking the game away from us like that. I think it was 170-ish wicket but I think we started off well but couldn't capitalize, there were some dismissals but I think a game like this at the start of the tournament is fine. I thought the bowlers pulled back the game very nicely for us. To get four wickets for 50-odd runs, we were in the game there. But like I said, Andre Russell came and took the game away from us. But there were lot of positives to take away for us today.
Shubham: That's it. KKR has chased down 138 runs in just 14.3 overs. It was always going to be an easy chase for them.  Punjab lost Mayank early but Rajapaksa took off all the pressure and scored 31 off just 9 deliveries. Dhawan could not time his shots well today and scored 16 off 15. No Punjab batsmen could continue their starts and they were 102-8 at one time. Rabada came out and blasted the Kkr bowlers all over the park scoring 25 off 16 balls with 4 fours and 1 six. Punjab was bundled up at 137/10 and Umesh Yadav was the best bowler out there picking up 4 for 23 in his spell. Narine and Varun bowled some tight lines today and gave no room to the batsmen.  Mavi was the most expensive one, giving away 39 runs in his 2 overs but took the crucial wicket of Rajapaksa.

Rahane started with 3 boundaries but lost his wicket to Rabada and departed for 14 off 12. Venky was dismissed on just 3 off 7. Shreyas and Billings took on the Punjab bowling and started attacking them because they knew they need a good powerplay score first up! Shreyas scored 26 off 15 with 5 fours before gifting his wicket to Rahul Chahar in the process of slog sweeping him. Kkr were in a spot of bother at 51/4.  Russell came in and showed why he is called Russell Muscle!! He scored 70 off just 31 deliveries, 2 fours, and 8 SIXES and took the game away from the Punjab team. Billings held one end very well and played a brilliant responsible knock of 24 runs off 23 balls.

Rahul Chahar was the most impressive Punjab bowler out there, giving away just 13 runs in 4 overs and taking 2 crucial wickets of Shreyas and Rana! Odean Smith was smashed all over the park today, giving away 39 runs in his 2 overs. Rabada gave 23 runs in his 3 overs and took the opening wicket of Rahane. Arshdeep was expensive too, giving away 32 runs in 3 overs. Punjab needs to recover from this match as soon as they can and focus on the next match.

14.3 L Livingstone to A Russell
6 And it's all over! Thank you very much says Russell! Length delivery on the stumps, DreRuss backs himself and smacks another pull over the deep midwicket fence to finish off the proceedings as KKR finish the game off with 33 deliveries to spare!
14.2 L Livingstone to A Russell
6 Welcome to the IPL, Mr. Livingstone! Says Russell! Fails to find the meaty part of the bat but clears the boundary on the back of the brute force! Fuller one on the off stump, crunches it over long off for a maximum!
14.1 L Livingstone to S Billings
