Thanks for joining us for the live coverage of the TATA Indian Premier League as the Punjab Kings beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 5 wickets. This was Saurabh Saket alongside Akshayakrishna Polya and Karthik. Stay updated as we bring up updates from all across the globe. Until then stay tuned and stay safe!
Odean Smith | Player of the Match: "We were stressing on having a good start, we believed we could do well, it didn't go so well with the bowling, I did help my team with my batting. It was all about the execution, I missed my mark and it went all haywire from there. Punjab hasn't won the title so far but we need to have the belief. We watched '14 peaks', 13 remain for us."
Mayank Agarwal | Winning Captain: "Definitely two points is very important to us. Good to start the tournament on a winning note. It held up one or two balls but apart from that, it was a very good batting wicket. We took the right chances and am glad it came off.  Got easier in the second innings due to dew. We gave them 15-20 more. The way Faf and Virat batted during the middle overs took it away from us slightly. It is a lot to do with the depth but we trust our skills. It doesn't come off, it doesn't come off but we are not going to panic and make a scene out of it."
Bhanuka Rajapaksa : "I played my part, Shikhar wanted me to play freely, I have played a lot of cricket together with him (Hasaranga) so I know how to work my way around him, It was about knowing him and playing him for the last 4-5 years now. I bought my local knowledge and it worked. This win is a huge confidence booster. Every game is a batter's game, I tried to play my game and we finished the game very well. We gave a lot of runs in the last few overs and I know the bowling unit will like to improve on it in the upcoming games."
Faf du Plesis | RCB Skipper: "To be honest our batting was good. A couple of catches at the end costed us I think. Odean Smith batted beautifully for his 25-runs. I think we dropped him at 10. This is what Odean can do. There is a bit of dew out there. The ball skidded on in the second innings. Shahrukh also struck really well at the end. I was tired. There was some swing in the first four overs. But yeah, powerplay was good for us. I was 1 off 10-balls I guess but then took over."
Saket: The Royal Challengers Bangalore were up against the challenge of Punjab Kings in the opening contest of their campaign. After losing the toss the Challengers were invited to bat first and the side had a field day courtesy of a great batting display from skipper Faf Du Plessis who smashed 88 runs to put his team in the driving seat. Virat Kohli played a anchor knock scoring 41 runs off 29 balls as Dinesh Karthik played a fiery cameo of 32 runs off 14 deliveries to help RCB post 205 runs on the board.

Punjab Kings had a trailblazing start to the innings as Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan put up a 71 runs partnership for the first wicket within the first seven overs to give their side the base in the contest. Bhanuka Rajapaksa capitalized on the existing momentum and slapped his compatriot Wanindu Hasaranga all across the park scoring 43 runs off 22 deliveries.

Mohammad Siraj found the breakthrough for his side as he picked two consecutive wickets to push Punjab to the backfoot. However, the chasing side were in no mood to back down as Liam Livingstone alongside Shahrukh Khan set up the momentum for the death overs.

Odean Smith played a cameo of 25 runs off 8 deliveries and helped Punjab close the deal alongside Shahrukh as Punjab chased down the total with one over to spare.
Akshaya: That's it. That was some run chase. Kudos to PBKS on their success.

4 THAT IS IT!!!! PUNJAB KINGS WIN BY FIVE WICKETS!! LIKE A TRACER BULLET!!!!! Full and in the slot, Shahrukh stays deep and pummels it over the bowler's head for a boundary. The long-off fielder didn't even have 0.1 % chance of stopping the boundary there. WHAT A RUN CHASE THIS BEEN!!
18.5 H Patel to S Khan
0 Yorker outside-off, Shahrukh digs it back to the bowler. No run

6 SHAHRUKH JOINS THE PARTY NOW!! Full and slow, Shahrukh waits and then lofts it straight down the ground for a maximum. You can't bowl full or half-volleys to any batsman at this stage, let alone Shahrukh Khan!
18.2 H Patel to S Khan
0 Short and wide of off, Shahrukh tries to pull but he misses it. Harshal surprised Shahrukh with a full pace short delivery there
18.2 H Patel to S Khan
WD Full and outside the tramline, WIDE called
18.1 H Patel to S Khan
2 Full and slow outside-off, Shahrukh pushes it to deep covers for a couple of runs. Superb running between the wickets
