That's the end of the game and day as Worcestershire wins the contest inside three days and wins this contest by an innings and 34 runs. Sussex has been totally outplayed here. It's the first win for Worcestershire this season while Sussex has lost their last six matches in seven games. They have plenty of thinking to do going forward this season.

The day started with Sussex resuming their first innings at 169-5 with Cheteshwar Pujara resuming on 85. He went on to complete his second consecutive ton to go with a double hundred in the previous game. He scored a magnificent 109 but his departure meant that the rest of the innings fell away to be bowled out for 269 in 81.5 overs. Nobody was other than Tom Clark's 44 and Alsop's 28 provided resistance as they were bowled out at the Lunch Break. Joe Leach was the star with the ball for the hosts in both the innings especially in the first innings as he picked up four wickets in the first innings. A couple of wickets apiece for Charlie Morris and Dillon Young Pennington who picked up Pujara through beauties in both the innings. Ed Barnard had a wicket to his name as well.

Post-lunch, Sussex was told to follow on as they trailed by 222 runs as the hosts went for the kill today. Sussex lost wickets at regular intervals as Haines, Alsop and first-innings centurion Pujara went relatively early in the piece. Alastair Orr held one end up for his 33 off 138 balls before his resistance was ended by Baker. Grant Stewart entertained us one and all towards the end of proceedings with his 67 unbeaten off 58 balls but it was too little too late. James Baker was smashed for 28 runs in the penultimate over of the game.

For Worcestershire, Joe Leach picked up a couple of wickets which were the first two wickets of the second innings. A wicket apiece for Ed Barnard and Dillon Young Pellington who picked up the prized scalp of Cheteshwar Pujara. Josh Baker was the pick of the bowlers with his 3-75 in 24 overs, although his figures were damaged towards the end by Grant Stewart who provided us with great entertainment. When things needed it, with the team unable to take the last two wickets, captain Brett D'Oliveira stepped up and cleaned up the tail in his 2 overs 1 maiden 2-2, and made sure the game finished today. Azhar Ali was used for 3 overs for 17 runs as he was tonked around like expected.

So, Worcestershire wins this by an innings and 34 runs to register their first win in the competition. Sussex with a lot of work and thinking to do as they go back to the drawing board. It is a day for the hosts to celebrate.
