Milestone
We move on to the second test now and hopefully, the pitch curator will keep something in it for the bowlers. Fingers crossed!

That's it from us today, This is Ovaise Shariff signing off on behalf of my co-commentators AkshayaKrishna Polya, Anirudh Modi, and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer and Dushyant Kumar. Do join us for the next Test. Good Bye!!
Babar Azam, Pakistan Captain: "The way he grabbed his opportunity and the maturity he showed was commendable. So many positives. Even I would want to congratulate my bowlers as this was a tough wicket. The way Nauman bowled was a massive positive for us. A few of our main bowlers were not available for this game as well but they should be available for the next game."
Pat Cummins, Australia Captain: "Yeah, I think everyone got into the series. Especially the batters. Quite fresh still for the second test. This is very good place. Rawalpindi crowd was very cheerful. It's happy to be playing here after 24-years. Thanks."
Player of the match, Imam-ul-Haq: "I said earlier as well I have been working on my process for the last one and a half years. Very pleasing to be scoring a ton against Australia as they have a good bowling attack. I was working on my basics. Was waiting for the bad balls."
Time for the presentation ceremony.
Abdullah Shafique: "I want to thank god for this special moment. A test century against Australia really means a lot. In the first innings I was playing well but played a false shot to get out, took advice from Yusuf sir and there's room for improvement. The conditions were very good for batting apart from the first over where the ball was doing something. This match was a confidence booster, lot of positives from this despite the draw and we shall play even better in the next match."

Ovaise: Apart from the first four overs where Pakistan picked the last three Australian wickets, it was back to the usual story of bat dominating ball throughout this 5th day. Australia could not add much to their overnight total, just added 12 runs as Nauman Ali took his career-best figures of 6 wickets for 107 in his 38 overs.

The two Pakistan openers came out to bat and were very watchful at the beginning and played very defensively which buried any chances of a result in this match. The pair played throughout the first innings without losing a wicket.

A similar story was seen in the second session where Imam and Shafique continued in the same fashion stitching up a mammoth opening partnership, The pair looked untroubled for most parts and kept out everything bowled at them by the Australian bowlers.

This Test was always heading only in one direction and that was a draw. The Australian bowlers toiled hard on a sunny day but couldn’t trouble the openers one bit. The pitch looked flat as a road, and runs making became easier towards the end of the 2nd session.

Post the tea, Imam and Shafique both got their respective centuries. Australia tried everything from pace, to spin, to part-time spin, nothing worked against these two. Shafique got to his century first and he looks like a promising young player for Pakistan in the coming days. Imam looked like he continued from where he had left in the first innings.

Test cricket will not survive if we end up having more matching like these, It will be interesting to see what the match-referee says about this ‘Terrible Pitch’, Should definitely come under the category of ‘Poor’, there was hardly anything in it for the bowler and if they continue playing on this for the next two days, there still won’t be any result.

Aleem Dar finally ended the misery of the Australian bowler by calling it stumps. Pakistan ended with 252-0. The match finally ended in a boring
DRAW, only 14 wickets were taken throughout this test match which is some sort of a record I presume.
