It is getting more clinical and it is important for us to keep raising the bar. You want to peak at the end of this tournament so we just want to keep improving. The game was never too far from us, we knew it was all about getting a partnership. I am happy with my and Klaasen's effort, it was a very good effort out there."
That will do it, a comfortable victory in the end for the Titans they win this by 7 wickets and almost two overs to spare. A breezy start by Quinny at the top, he flexed his arms once too often and Titans were in a sensitive position at 26/1, the Lions struck again when they had Dewald Brevis right at the stroke of the powerplay. Out walked Klaasen and combined with the skipper to stabilize the ship.
The Titans however didn't give away an inch after the end of the powerplay, with easy singles and the odd boundaries coming along, the Titans were always ahead of the game with the original run rate just above 7.
An excellent knock from the skipper, he remains unbeaten on 63 and he found great support in Klaseen the two combined for the highest third wicket partnership in CSA history, a 106 runs stand. That pretty much sealed the game for the Lions.
Not an inspiring bowling card if you are a Lions fan, Siboto with two wickets and Fortuin with one but everyone else went for runs and never looked threatening enough. The victory now takes the Titans to the second spot in the point table, marking their fourth consecutive victory.
