Earlier in the day, The London Spirits skipper Charlotte Dean won the toss and chose to bat. Beth Mooney looked in some fantastic touch right from the get-go. Grace Scrivens accompanied her put to open the batting. Scrivens was dismissed by Georgia Adams on her very first ball.
Amelia Kerr walked out into the middle and joined Beth Mooney, together they stitched up a brilliant partnership and put the London Spirits in a strong position. They manipulated the field to perfection and Mooney in particular was hammering to all parts of the ground. She played a fantastic knock, the innings had power, placement and some touch play as well!! It was a treat to watch her bat today.
Beth Mooney fell short of 3 runs, she has starved of the strike n the last set! The Australian opener finished on an unbeaten 97 and was well supported by Amelia Kerr who stitched a fantastic partnership and took their team to a massive total of 155 in 100!
It looks like a decent total of the board at the end of the 1st inning but Danielle Wyatt and Smriti Mandhana came out to open the batting and played with great intent and used the power play brilliantly!! Smrithi Mandhana was dismissed by Danielle Gibson on the 37th ball when the score was 62.
Dunkley walked out to bat and supported Wyatt very well and together they took the team close to victory before London Spirit made a comeback but getting a Danielle Wyatt run out!! Dunkley continued with her merry way and was ably supported by Georgia Adams and Freya Kemp. Eventually, The Southern Brave Women got over the line comfortably with 6 balls to spare and 6 wickets still in hand!!
