Middlesex bowling was good in patches as they leaked runs at the end after picking 7 wickets for not too much. Hollman was the pick of the bowlers with 3-43 in his 9 overs. He was well supported by U Yadav, E Bamber, and P Malan who picked a wicket a piece and M Andersson got 2 but were expensive as he gave away 85 in his 8 overs. Leicestershire ended up with a massive 359 for 8 giving Middlesex a target of 360 to win the match.
Chasing 360, Middlesex got off to a good start
as Stoneman (35) and Eskinazi (56) added 79 for the 1st wicket in
just 11 overs. W Mulder picked up both the wickets as openers were back in the
pavilion inside 17 overs. S Robson and P Malan added 61 for the 3rd
wicket before Robson departed for 26 to a soft dismissal. P Malan played a good
knock of 50 off 53 balls. M Holden (39) and J Cracknell (44) shared a key stand as they took the game deep but both got dismissed at the wrong time. M Andersson hit some lusty blows at the end to remain unbeaten on 33 but could not get his team over the line as Middlesex fell short by 15 runs.
W Mulder was the star of the show with both bat and ball as he picked up 4-47 in his 10 to go alongside his unbeaten 116 and was supported by B Hendricks and Scriven who got 2 a piece. A Lilley picked up a wicket as the Leics bowlers restricted the Middlesex team to get a good win on board.
