5:48 PM IST | So, here we are, it was Australia🇦🇺 as the champions in 2021, and now a year later it's their arch-rivals who lift the trophy at the iconic MCG🏟. England🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 have embedded their name under this championship for the second time after clinching in 2010. After West Indies, they have scripted the T20 World Cup title twice under their name.

What a fantastic World Cup🏆 we've had. Four weeks went by thick and fast, and with the number of upsets and drama witnessed on the cards, this shall go down to the history books.

This is your guy, Arijit Kundu, and was a pleasure to call the marquee event throughout with fellow co-commentators 'perfectionist' AkshayaKrishna Polya, 'marathon man' Ajay Ahire, 'floater' Badal Pareek and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. It's time to bid adieu. Thank you! TATA!! Bye-Bye!!
5:40 PM IST | And smiles on each of the faces, England lifts the trophy at the center stage, with crackers thrusting all around. The English team is at the podium and jubilant, posing behind the champion's mark with champaigns sprayed around.
Jos Buttler (England Captain): "Yeah, absolutely. It is very good to win the T20 World Cup. I am immensely proud of everyone who made this happen. It has been a fantastic tournament. We went to Pakistan before this tournament, and it helped us to prepare well. Even after the loss against Ireland, we were almost down and out. But to overcome that one and win the next matches and become the champions is a special thing. He (Adil Rashid) has been bowling really well. Adil has been bowling good lines and lengths in the last three matches and put us in a good position. They (Pakistan) have bowled seriously well. They swung the ball, and lines and lengths were tighter as well. They were bowling it with a fiery pace and were attacking as well. It was, once again, Ben Stokes. Ahh!! He does it again and again. Ben Stokes was just perfect at the end. He has experience, and he is the ultimate competition. That phase he handled with Moeen Ali just took the match away from Pakistan."
England players are now on the stage to receive their winning medal.
Babar Azam (Pakistan Captain): "Ahh of course, congratulations to England team they are the champions and played so. I would like to thank the audience for coming and supporting us wherever we play. Yeah, just only I tried to pass the message of playing your natural game. Yeah definitely, we fell 20 runs short but our boys were good with the ball.

Of course, our bowling is one of the best in the world. The way we started in the powerplay was good, but then Shaheen's injury else the results could have been a little different."
5:33 PM IST| The Pakistan players are being summoned for their runners-up medals.
The match officials are getting their medals now for their incredible efforts in officiating the match!
Sam Curran | Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament: "Yeah, very special. Ahh! I don't think this award is for me. Ben Stokes deserves this, as he has done this many times for England. So, I think he is the real owner of this. The plan was simple. It was to bowl according to the dimensions of the ground. So I planned accordingly and executed them really well. Pakistan bowled brilliantly. They nipped around and put us under pressure. Stokes is a guy that we, the younger boys, look upto. He has the experience, and he has done it in these big stages. He is a great player. People do question him, which is incredible. Amazing crowd tonight. I wanted to adapt to the conditions coming into the tournament. I haven't bowled much in death before. To be honest, needed to be good with the bat as well. How good it is to be a world champion (laughs). "
Alex Hales: "Yeah, definitely, it's an incredible feeling. The last six weeks have been so so special. We have taken our time. it took me a bit hard to find my feet. They are a piece of high-quality bowling. Yeah, thank you."
Moeen Ali: "Yeah, this is one of the best achievements in my cricketing career. Amazing feeling to get it done against this powerful Pakistani team. It was about being positive and showing intent. If I get out then it should happen being positive."
Ben Stokes: "You know, in finals, it is a matter of the moment.  It was a tricky wicket, to restrict them to 130, the bowlers have to get a lot of credit. Look, in the conversation, you have to address it. In tournaments like these, you cannot carry baggage like this. Credits to Ireland for that win. The best teams learn from it, and move on to the next challenge. This is amazing, been a good one, been a good one."
Chris Woakes: "We lost a few games in Australia, but this is a good thing. The wicket provided very little for the bowlers. I think the wicket, the lines, and it was 160 runs pitch but the occasion gets better when you go past the line."
Harry Brook: "So good, so good. not many people would expect us to win the World Cup at the age of 23, but we've shown the world how good we are tonight. Thought the wicket would be better, but it was a fantastic day. The audience has been fantastic."

5:08 PM IST | Arijit Kundu: If there had to be an award for the 'man of the moment,' 'man of the hour,' or 'man of the crunch junctions,' deliver it to this guy, Benjamin Andrew Stokes!!💪🏼 Four weeks of unstoppable action, plethora of upsets, plenty of anticipation, and in the end it is England who lifts the laurels at the historic MCG.🏟

It was 7 years back when Alaistair Cook was dropped as the captain, and the fans, experts cricket lovers questioned English cricket. There was a change in approach and we can witness the fruits of the seeds today.

It is worth noting that Pakistan was below par and their middle-order woes were exposed once again. On a big match, their middle order failed to gel up at the need of the hour. Like any other day, it was Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan with the opening march. Very much like that of the 1992 Cricket World Cup, the innings started off with a no-ball and this time it was Ben Stokes behind the act.🥶

The Pakistan duo looked a bit struggling initially and Mohammed Rizwan chopped back onto his stumps in the fifth over itself. Sam Curran was the one with the fresh scalp and soon Adil Rashid arrived and owned the stage.

He pulled the ball in the court of the ‘Three Lions’ after removing the aggressive-looking  Mohammed Haris and skipper Babar Azam in the 8th and the 12th over. The other bowlers joined the spree and kept on tumbling the wickets till the end of the innings. Shan Masood tried to stay at one end and steer Pakistan, but as soon as took the aerial route, the southpaw walked in despair in the 17th over.

Pakistan could get 137 runs at the end and England were brilliant in their bowling throughout. Sam Curran bagged three wickets and two each went in name of Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan. Ben Stokes bagged one as well.✌️

In reply, Alex Hales was the one to find his timbers rattled in the first over itself and courtesy to Shaheen Shah Afridi’s brilliance with a nip-backer. Phil Salt joined Buttler and could play a few shots, and then returned back for a brisk. Buttler looked well and creamed a few smothering hits around the park.

England were put short to 45-3 after 5.3 overs and some interruption from the rain could have done the damage. But luckily for England, it was Ben Stokes, once again the man of the crunch moments wore the captain’s hat and steered the ship⛴ to triumph.

At one point they needed 62 runs from 62 balls and Ben Stokes and Harry Brook tinkered the scoreboard around for a while. The ship seemed to be sinking a bit as Stokes ate away a few balls, but it was the premiere all-rounder who was the man of the hour!!

With Moeen Ali, landing up after the fourth wicket, the experienced duo shadowed the nerves and smacked some good hits. It wasn't just about big shots, but finding the gaps between the fielders. Though Ali was dismissed in the fag end, it was Ben Stokes (52* runs of 49 balls) who rafted them, past the finishing line once again.

Pakistan bowlers gave a brilliant fight in this low-scoring encounter but in the end it is the Jos Buttler-led English team that edged past with 5 wickets and an over in hand.
