Match Details
Earlier in the innings, England started things off by offering a wicket on the second ball of the innings, and it was Jos Buttler, the skipper who departed for a silver duck. Alex Hales was the other one to depart and once again it was Joshua Little with the wickets.
Ben Stokes and Dawid Malan kept the scoreboard ticking with singles, doubles, and triples but soon the all-rounder was trapped by a nipping-in delivery from Fionn Hand. England lost three wickets inside the powerplay and could manage only 37 runs when the field restrictions were on.
Harry Brook and Malan glued 38 runs together and then the wickets again kept on tumbling. Despite being scratchy, Malan notched up 35 runs from 37 balls. Just when Moeen Ali looked to up the ante, by smoking a few blistering shots, it was the rain that played in favor of Ireland. They had 10 minutes in hand for the match to resume and England was 5 runs behind the par score.
