Laurie Evans has been adjudged the Player of the Match.
That's the end of the match here and Scorchers won the match by 47 runs and they have added another victory to their tally. 10th win for them in this season. An all-around performance from the Scorchers to deliver a thumping win here. They are getting better and better as the tournament is progressing towards the final showdown. Melbourne Stars faced the 6th defeat of this season and their chances of making it into the top 4 getting thinner and thinner now.

Chasing 197 the things went wrong for the Stars from the start as they lost Larkin in the second over of the match on the bowling of Kelly who fired in a fuller length delivery to get rid of Larkin. In the first 3 overs, they managed to score only 9 runs with the loss of one wicket. On the other end, Webster looked in total control of his game and he kept on chipping the runs from one end.

Joe Burns came out to bat on the number 3 position he smoked a couple of maximum in his short stay but he was undone by Kelly on the score of 20. The big show Maxwell came out at number 4. In the search of the bash boost point, he tries to take on Peter Hotzaoglou but failed there as he chips that one straight into the hands of deep covers. After the departure of Maxwell another big hitter in form of Cartwright was sent back into the dugout by Kelly.

Webster played brilliant innings for the Stars he scored 63 runs from 47 balls with the help of 7 fours and 2 maximums. After his departure rest of the lower order was blown away by the Scorchers and they got the victory by 47 runs in the end.

Matthew Kelly was the pick of the bowlers for the Scorchers as he picked up 4 wickets in his 4 over spell. Apart from Hardie all of the other bowlers' picked up a wicket each and keep the pressure on the Stars batting lineup. Behrendorff and Ashton Agar were very economical in their spell that put the breaks on the scoring rate in the middle overs.

While batting first Perth Scorchers were brilliant with the bat. Laurie Evans scored 69 runs from 46 balls as he was the pick of the batters for the Scorchers. Turner and Hobson scored 47 and 46 runs respectively and took them to the score of 196.
