West Indies take this home by 25 runs in the end but the scorecard doesn’t tell the entire story here. Ireland were in this encounter for the longest time, they kept fighting their way back in but just couldn’t hold it together in the end. Earlier in the day, Porterfiled departed early and it seemed like West Indies would dominate from there on.

Andrew Balbirnie combined with Andy Mcbrine to rebuild took them to a position of safety. The two were looking set before the latter copped a blow to the head and was retired hurt. Out came Harry Tector and got going early. The two controlled the middle overs phase beautifully and kept the run rate in check.

With each passing over, it felt like Ireland were setting things up beautifully for the fag end but that wasn't to be the case. Romairo Shepherd came back into the attack after the second drinks break and got rid of a well set Balbirnie. Ireland kept loosing wickets at regular interval post that and the Required Rate kept creeping up.

Dockrell kept fighting on and chipped in with a 25 ball 30 but Ireland needed one of the top four to bat deep. Mark Adair struck some timely balls in the end before he was left at the other end stranded while the rest of the team fell apart before his eyes.

The West Indies bowlers were incredible, Joseph and Shepherd claimed three wickets each, two for Odeon Smith and one a piece for Holder and Hosein. A lot of postives for West Indies in this encounter they will look to ride this momentum into the next game.

As for Ireland they will look to plug in the gaps and look to turn things around. Until next time this was Anmol Ahuja along with Ajay Ahire and Arijit Kundu. Until next time..Cheer!!
49.1 O Smith to J Little
W WICKET!!! It's all over here at Sabina Park. Ohh, wait they are checking for a clean catch here. Looks fine and Little has to go here and West Indies gets the victory here by 24 runs. Short of a length delivery from Odean Smith follows the batter. Little goes for the pull at a very awkward position. Gets the top edge of the bat and it goes up in the air. And Nicholas Pooran stationed at deep midwicket runs forward and takes a good diving catch. Little departs on a golden duck here. That's the end of the match and West Indies takes lead 1-0 in the three-match ODI series.

48.6 R Shepherd to J Little
0 Full and slightly outside the off, and the batter hoicks it over wide of long off region for a maximum now. How good a shot is that!! Ireland is still trying to do everything that they can do.
48.5 R Shepherd to J Little
0 Full and outside off and the batter swings and misses.
48.4 R Shepherd to J Little
0 A dot ball now. Its a full delivery near the off, the batter hits it near extra cover but denies the single.
48.3 R Shepherd to M Adair
1 A wide yorker from around the wicket from Shepherd, Adair tries to get underneath it but fails to make contact.
48.3 R Shepherd to J Little
0 Slower and angled away from the right hander. Little plays and misses.

48.2 R Shepherd to C Young
W Another one bites the dust and once again it's Romario Shepherd with the wicket. A low full-toss from the muscular guy and Young fails to pump underneath the cork this time. He lofts it straight into the hands of long-off where Pollard takes a dolly.
48.1 R Shepherd to C Young
1 Full and straight at the forth stump line and Young scutters it down to long on for a single.
Ajay: 32 runs are needed now from the last 12 balls. Can Mark Adair steer the Irish side home here? Needs 2-3 big hits from his bat.
47.6 A Joseph to C Young
1 Miscues this one near mid wicket region and the duo gets only a single. Full pitch delivery from the bowler at the sticks.
47.5 A Joseph to M Adair
1 A spot on yorker, 140kph! Angles in at the right hander, and Adair has no room to play some big shots. ALl he could do was to jam the bat down in the right time, guide the face of the blade towards cover-point and hustle for a single.

47.4 A Joseph to G Dockrell
W Quick and full from the bowler near the ofand the batter smokes it over the inner circle this time/ Oh wait, he hasn't got enough on it and this one lands straight into the safe palms of tall, lanky Jason Holder.  Dockrell departs and this could be a game-turning wicket for the Windies.
