Milestone
That's it for today from the Ford Trophy. Do join us for the upcoming matches from all around the globe. For now, this is me Badal signing it off along with my Co-commentators Akshayakrishna Polya and Rahul. Until then stay safe and stay cool...
Wellington was asked to bat first and they did step up to the occasion putting up a massive first innings total of 333. They did lose Allen early in the innings but Ravindra and Blundell managed to steady the ship with a big partnership. Soon Johnson joined the party and smoked the Otago bowlers to all parts of the ground. The lower order also contributed with some quick-fire runs. It was a massive first inning total and Otago had no choice but to go for it from the start. In the pursuit of 334 runs, Otago lost both their openers early. Kelly and Rippon were the only two batters who crossed the 50 run mark for them. They did try to fight but wicket at regular intervals kept making things difficult for them. In the end, they were bowled out for 238 after 43.3 overs. Overall, Wellington had a great day with both bat and ball. As a result, they won by 95 runs.
Wellington has won this match by 95 runs.
