Milestone
So, 36 teams started the journey, but only 2 teams remain in the competition. The finale is set between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka on Monday. So, do join us for the coverage of that game. Till the next time, it's a ta-ta and a goodbye from me, Anurag Dasgupta and my co-commentator, Akshay Bhide.
That's it, the match is done and dusted. Vidarbha's unbeaten run finally comes to an end. They fought hard and almost pulled off a victory, but there is a reason as to why Karnataka is a champion side. They kept their nerves and have reached yet another finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and have setup a mouth-watering clash against Tamil Nadu. If the first semi-final was a boredom, the second was filled with all sorts of emotions and Karnataka have won the match by 4 runs.

Chasing a tricky 177 to reach the finals, Vidarbha openers, Atharva Taide and Ganesh Satish came all guns blazing and were in some mood today. They never allowed the Karnataka bowlers to settle in properly and took the game to the opposition. If Satish was all about lovely wrists work and finding the gaps, Taide was all about brute strength and was hammering the bowlers for fun.

Taide departed for a well compiled 16-ball 32 and had laid a strong foundation for the middle order batters. But Karnataka needed one small opportunity to pounce on which they did. One wicket brought down another one and Karnataka tightened the screws in the middle overs. Almost every Vidarbha batter got off to a start, but no one, and I repeat no one capitalised on it. Credit goes to KC Cariappa who was superb in the middle overs and his four overs proved to the difference maker in this all-important semi-final.

The duo of Apoor Wankhade and Akshay Karnekar provided some resistance and gave a mini-heart attack to the Karnataka side. But the two-time champions held their composure and won this nail-biter on the very last ball.

4 Hammered away for a boundary! But it doesn't matter now, Karnataka have won this game by 4 runs. The players and the staff members are ecstatic and so they should be. Full toss on the off and Nalkande smokes it towards the vacant deep cover region for a boundary..
19.5 V Patil to A Wankhade
1 Low full toss and it angles across. Wankhade bunts it with all his power towards deep cover to take a single.
19.4 V Patil to D Nalkande
1b What just happened here? A run-out chance missed. Slower and shorter on the off. Nalkande misses the connection on his pull and gets beaten all ends up and immediately calls for a bye. The keeper collects the ball and throws it back to the bowler who had all the time to dislodge the bails at the non strikers' end, but guess what, he missed it..
19.3 V Patil to A Wankhade
1 Is that a waist-high no-ball? It should be. It took Wankhade by surprise who pulls it from the splice of the bat towards deep square for a single..
19.3 V Patil to A Wankhade
WD Fuller and angling across the righty. This was well outside the tramline. Wide signalled by the umpire..
19.2 V Patil to D Nalkande
1 Full toss as Nalkande wanted to slog this on the leg side. But the ball trims the outer part of the bat and falls well short of the cover fielder..

19.1 V Patil to A Karnewar
W Taken at covers! For a second I thought it had cleared the in-field with ease. But the fielder there times his jump to perfection. This was fuller and wide of off. Karnewar looks to loft this over the covers, but the fielder there leaps and gets both hands to it.
Akshay: 14 required off the last over and Vidarbha believe....

18.6 Kumar to A Wankhade
4 Misses his yorker by a whisker and Wankhade says thank you so much. A perfect way to end the over. Wankhade stays deep as he clobbers this low full toss over the umpire's head and finds the boundary with ease. The fielder running from long off had no chance to stop that one. it went like a tracer bullet..
18.5 Kumar to A Wankhade
2 Length delivery on the stumps. Wankhade loses his balance a bit, but still manages to swat this towards the deep mid wicket region to come back for a second run..
18.4 Kumar to A Wankhade
0 What a great comeback from Kumar. Another perfect yorker and Wankhade again looked clueless. Fuller, outside the off and Wankhade again fails to get a bat on it. He looks frustrated now..
18.3 Kumar to A Wankhade
0 Brilliant execution of the yorker. Wankhade had no answer for it. It was full and just outside the off. Wankhade was a tad late in bringing his bat down on time.
