Milestone
So this is it from the 2nd test between West Indies and Sri Lanka as the home side beats the visitors by a massive 164 runs. Ramesh Mendis is the player of the series, and Mickey Arthur has a smirk on his face finally.

This is Arijit Kundu, signing off with my fellow commentators, Ninad Dixit and Ayan Chatterjee.  We'll see you back on the other coverage where India takes on New Zealand and later on the Abu Dhabi T10 playoffs.
Dimuth Karunaratne (Srilanka Winning Captain):- "Yes that's what I was thinking that we didn't have practice. But the boys did well especially Ramesh and Pathum. Pathum looked really confident and has a great future. Hope he can convert 50's to 100's. Oshada is a tough man. Got hit so much but he hung in there and took catches so much for us. On a personal front, I am happy to be the leading run-scorer and I wish I can improve even further. On a somber note, I am very sad to see Mickey Arthur go. Whenever the chips were down, Mickey was there for me and everyone. I will miss him a lot"

Dimuth Karunaratne also thanks the fans and ground staff in their local language.
Kraigg Brathwaite, West Indies captain: "I thought our batting in the first innings was crucial and put us in good position. They batted well, catches win matches and we put down some. We got starts but failed to cash in. As batsmen, it is important to go as long as possible and we failed to do it as batsmen. I think as batters we saw potential, we saw guys batting for longer periods. If we can bat 110 overs plus then we can do the job as batters for the team. We need to be hungry and we got some good scores but playing over 110 overs is the key for us."
Ramesh Mendis:  "I'm really happy for what I did. I thank my coaches to show their support on me. Thanks to them for showing the support in me." I wasn't just a bowler when I wasn't a first-class cricketer. I was a batting allrounder then and now I intend to be a batting allrounder and do my job well."
Man of the series: Ramesh Mendis.
Dhannajaya De Silva: "The inside rule of me is that, a batsman can score when he is in pressure and I like to be in that situation." My father is my angel. Im trying my best to do well. All the hundreds I get, its all for my father. Yeah Angelo got out early and I had to take the innings from there on. The bowlers were bowling tight lines and it wasnt easy. But huge shoutouts to Mickey Arthur and Grant Flower for their support to ease us from this difficult times."
Man of the match: Dhananjaya De Silva
And that is it from the last innings. A fifer for Lasith Embuldeniya and he wraps up things in style. Poor display of batting post-lunch from the Windies and the Sri Lankan bowlers were right on top of them. The Sri Lankan duo of Lasith Embuldeniya and Ramesh Mendis was brilliant as both the spinners dominated the Windies lineup with a fifer each to their name.

Srilanka had batted for 10-15 minutes early in the session and declared at 345-9. The Windies batters started off decent in the first session. Despite losing skipper, Kraig Braithwaite early, Jermaine Blackwood, and Knumrah Bonner jolted a fifty runs stand together. Srilanka got the second blow right before the lunch trapping Jermain Blackwood in front of the pads.

The umpire had changed the ball as it had lost its shape and since then the Lankan duo of Embuldeniya and Mendis were beating the edges of the willow frequently.  The wickets started tumbling with Ramesh Mendis scalping three big fishes in one over. Shai Hope, Roston Chase, and Kyle Mayers, all three of them were wrapped up by the skillful Ramesh Mendis. Bonner was the lone warrior fighting for the draw but lacked support from the other end.

And finally, Srilanka extracts a win on their home ground and seals the series 1-0 by defeating West Indies by 164 runs. The match started off in an off-colored fashion with the rain playing the spoilsport on the 1st day. The wicket wasn't at all pleasant for batting the next few days as  21 wickets fell in the next two days.  Srilanka was pumped up by the century from Dhananjaya De Silva in the 2nd innings, and a special shoutout to Pathum Nissanka for a well-crafted half-century.
56.1 L Embuldeniya to J Warrican
W Edged and taken! Embuldeniya and Mendis share the 10 wickets amongst them to bundle out Windies for 132! Sri Lanka win by 164 runs. Flighted delivery on good length on the stumps. Warrican was too early to push forward and looks to drive. The ball takes the outside edge and carries straight to Dhananjaya de Silva at slip! It's all over here at Galle. Brilliant all round performance from Sri Lanka.

Permaul sends it upstairs. Looks plumb. Checking Ultra Edge here. No bat here. Bat hitting the pad. Over to ball tracking.  Is in. And it's 3 reds on Hawk Eye. 5 wickets for Ramesh Mendis. 11 in the match as the Windies lose another review.
55.3 R Mendis to V Permaul
W Loud appeal and another one! Reviewed straight away by Permaul. Good length on the off stump, gets some bounce again. Permaul is on the backfoot, looking to work it in the leg side and gets hit on the front pad. Three reds on ball tracking, Permaul has to go. He opted for the review keeping the previous delivery in mind when there was some extra bounce and lots of turn from almost the same spot.
55.2 R Mendis to V Permaul
0 Comes back in sharply. Good length pitched outside the off stump and follows the batter down leg. Nice bounce generated as well.
