Earlier, the experienced opening pair of Beth Mooney and Sophie Devine powered Perth Scorchers Women to a formidable 177. The duo could not be separated till the seventeenth over and ensured an average outing for the Strikers Women bowlers. The Trans-Tasman batting pair blossomed in each other’s company and forged their way to a 137 run partnership, with both raising their personal 50s.
And with this win, Perth Scorchers Women move to the top of the table. Adelaide Strikers made a good fight against an uphill chase but in the end fell short by 12 runs. Katie Mack and Laura Wolvaardt kept the Strikers in hunt for a major chunk of the innings but this was always going to be a challenging target. Devine plucked out Wolvaardt and Graham bowled an excellent 19th over to put the game beyond Strikers Women reach.
