This is it from the centre as Punjab kings manage to grab two points in another last-over thriller. They are right in the competition. This is Arijit Kundu, alongside co-commentators Anurag singh and Anurag Dasgupta, and I hope that you have enjoyed the coverage from us. We shall be right back with doubleheaders tomorrow. See you there, aideu.
KL Rahul (PBKS captain & Man of the match): " I'll take the two points (heaves a huge sigh). We played it smartly. Realised it was a decent wicket and can't experiment too much. Went slightly defensive with the ball. Wasn't much spin. Wanted to make the batters hit to the bigger side. With the bat also we've given clear roles to players. Obviously, want to finish games. Weather's not been too kind coming straight from England. Win will give us confidence and hopefully, we'll build on it. These are things that kill me as a captain. Don't want to leave out the Indian boys. With a heavy heart had to leave Harpreet out. Had to see what would be our best XI with Chris leaving the bubble. Shahrukh has been batting brilliantly in the nets. Saw how strong he is in the first phase. He's asking a lot of questions and wanting to finish games. Today he played proper cricket shots, got a few boundaries and we all know he can hit the ball a long way. He can finish games, has done it for Tamil Nadu. Often times we've put too much pressure on ourselves. Everybody knows we are a far better team. Putting too much pressure on ourselves is not helping. The message has been to give our best. Every game we've fought till the end."
Player of the match: KL Rahul
Shahrukh Khan (after that winning six): "It would have been easier for me to take on the bowlers... I thought I had it [the last ball] well. I was brave enough to take shot. As soon as I go into any situation such as this, that method is really working. We needed three wins on the trot, and have started off well..."
Eoin Morgan (KKR captain): "Initially we didn't field that well, we put catches down, myself early and other guys, it has cost us. When the game gets that tight towards the end, extra few wickets down would have helped us. Equally, I thought we fought hard, batted really well and probably had a par score. Not a winning score on that wicket but thought the bowlers did a good job. Kings played well and then we fought back, catches have cost us. I thought in real time it was out (referring to the Rahul catch in the 19th over). Obviously, when you slow things down and analyse it that the third umpire thought otherwise and his decision is made, that's final and we need to get on with it. But it would have been nice if we had got that wicket. I think everyone that went out there found it difficult to get going initially, it was not an easy wicket to start on. But after having a strong 13-14 overs we didn't capitalize on that platform. Yeah, he (Venkatesh Iyer) is (some player), He's a real find for us, has been with us the whole campaign and we have watched him in practice, above all his attitude is fantastic for a guy that plays fearlessly as he does with the bat. He takes a lot of responsibility with the ball, Dre Russ leaves a huge gap in the allrounder position for us but to have someone come in and contribute is really outstanding. We have played some great cricket in the second half and have some positives to take away from tonight as well. Two more games to go, we will fight hard and hopefully, get a couple of good results and be in the playoffs."
Southee and Mavi tried to mix the pace and bowl well in the 18th and 19th overs respectively. They managed to concede 9 and 10 runs respectively of the respective overs with 5 runs to defend from 6 balls.
KL Rahul had just survived from the jaws of dismissal as Rahul Tripathi's sliding catch was given not-out by the 3rd umpire. Young Venkatesh Iyer bowled well to concede one run and take a wicket of KL Rahul in his first two balls of the over. But the tragic fears of Punjab Kings management and fans were all over when Shahrukh Khan managed to tong a six over midwicket in the next ball and finish the game in style.

Varun Chakravarthy
was the pick of the bowlers, picking two wickets and giving just 24 runs from his full quota.

Kl Rahul and Mayank Agarwal gleamed with the bat in hand with scores of 67 and 40 respectively.
PBKS needed 166 runs to chase within 20 overs and they did start quite well this time. Mayank Agarwal was taking the charge against the Knight attack and KL Rahul was looking to play the anchorer's innings. Just when KKR was desperate for a breakthrough, Varun Chakraborty sent the dangerous Mayank Agarwal back to the hut for 43. Nicholas Pooran, who came in one-down was the next to follow him back to the pavilion for only 12 runs off 7 deliveries.

Markram, who came in next was in constant search of timing the ball well. He managed to hit a six against Sunil Narine but failed to dig his innings deeper as he was foxed wittily by Narine in the same over. There was huge expectation from Deepak Hooda but he too let the Punjab fans down. It came down to 24 needed off 18 deliveries with skipper KL Rahul and big-hitter Shahrukh Khan on either end.
Earlier in the game, Punjab King's had won the coin flip and elected to field first to assess the conditions well.  KKR got a pretty good start in the powerplay as they lost only one wicket in the form of Subhman Gill. Kkr was 48-1 at the end of the powerplay. Tripathi and Iyer went off to glue a 72 runs stand before Tripathi got out to Ravi Bishnoi. Both the batters were ticking the score over and hitting the boundaries and over boundaries regularly.

Iyer soon followed Tripathi after Bishnoi tossed the ball a bit and foxed him to hit a flatter trajectory. Wickets fell in succession in the slog overs and Nitish Rana's 31 of 18 deliveries took the score to 165-7 at the end of 20 overs.
If you are a Punjab Kings fan, I have a big salute for you. A salute for keeping the nerves as a fan so calm on a regular basis, in these crunch situations.

But finally, a win redeems all the hard yards for the Punjab Kings and its fans. They are still in it. They are still in the competition as they have come down the wire and snatched two points in the last over of the game.

A Shahrukh Khan fan must be saying, how can a Shahrukh let Preity down!  Ain't it!
19.3 V Iyer to S Khan
6 SIXX!! WOW!! What an end to a dramatic game!! Tripathi at cow corner has spilt the catch over the ropes for a maximum. Back of a length angling into Shahrukh who absolutely muscles it straight to deep mid who palms it over the ropes to hand Punjab a victory by 5 wickets.

19.2 V Iyer to L Rahul
W OUTT!! What has Rahul done?? He has picked out the long-on fielder who didn't have to move an inch. Length delivery in the channel. Rahul looks to go over long off fails to get the desired connection and holes out Mavi at long off.
19.1 V Iyer to S Khan
1 Full and wide on the tramline, Khan moves inside and gets a bottom edge on the wild heave just wide of the keeper for a single.

18.6 S Mavi to L Rahul
4 FOURR!!! This time Rahul doesn't miss out on the freebies and ends the over with a boundary. Full toss around off to Rahul who makes room and places it past the sweeper cover for a boundary. Just 3 required off the final over.
18.5 S Mavi to S Khan
1 Nails in a yorker angled in the blockhole. Shahrukh digs it down the ground and takes a single.
18.4 S Mavi to L Rahul
1 Juicy full toss around off, Rahul works it down the ground and gives the strike to Shahrukh.
The 3rd umpire has been referred for fair catch of Rahul Tripathi, taken at deep mid wicket. A tough call by the third umpire and he resounds to notout. According to the 3rd umpire, one of the frame of motion reveals that the ball was touching the ground
18.3 S Mavi to L Rahul
0 OUTT!! Rahul Tripathi takes a stunner to keep the Knight Riders in the match. Slower one does the trick for Mavi. Back of a length on off to Rahul who fails to connect on the pull as he would have liked and lands a catch into the diving hands of Tripathi at deep mid wicket. TV umpire is checking for a clean catch. Soft signal is OUT. What Drama!! The onfield decision is reversed and Rahul survies.
